So far, everything seemed normal today.

That probably wouldn't last for long. Yitzhak didn't see the point in being optimistic. At the moment, he was contemplating a large burlap sack and trying to figure out if he should make a dress out of it and send it to Hedwig for a present.

Yes, he was very well aware that burlap chafed like hell. That was the point.

The busboy had been banned from doing the "cooking" today thanks to getting caught in an attempt to microwave a hamster, so the dishwasher, who was well enough to come in today (if just barely and under threat) was taking over that duty. Unfortunately, his expertise pretty much topped out at opening a can of soup, dumping it in a pot, and adding water, so . . . that was what everybody got today.

And it wasn't even Campbell's. It was generic store brand.

Today's Specials
Chicken Noodle Soup
Vegetable Beef Soup
Minestrone
Italian Wedding Soup

Add a can of water and heat, and Luke's is open.

[OOC: Will be AFK from about 3PM - 8:30PM Eastern due to an opportunity to go earn some of that money stuff, but otherwise around.]

Braca took last week off just because he could. He was the mayor, after all. He could take vacations whenever you frelling well pleased.

Everyone should just be lucky he showed up today. There was a Bitterwoman marathon airing that he hated to miss.

Lana opened the store, cheerful beyond words that Jim was back. She set everything out for the customers, did a little straightening, then settled in with a good book.

Everything was set for Mary's birthday party. The ballroom was filled with enough tables for everyone to sit down for dinner. There was a bar set up in the corner of the room and in the opposite corner was a table with a very large 5-tier birthday cake, which Gunther currently had two of his assistants guarding. Just in case Wolfgang Puck showed up to exact revenge for Gunther destroying the Deline wedding cake last year.

The room was lit with candles that gave everything a soft glow and every table had an arrangement of white roses that matched with the ivory tablecloths. If it happened to look similar to the reception Mary had planned last year for Delinda Deline's wedding, that was just a coincidence. The theme tonight was "Everything Old Is New Again" and the wait staff were dressed as if they came straight from Las Vegas circa 1962, complete with fedora hats for the men and beehive hairdos for the women. Even Mary was wearing a vintage dress. The newly-installed state of the art sound system would be playing the best hits of the Rat Pack all evening and there was a dance floor set up at the far end of the room.

[Everyone is invited, even if you didn't hear from Mary. Up early because I'm having connection problems. OCD coming is up!.]

Monday, Magic Box

Ami opened the store, and found a book on magic girls. The book was from Japan and rather looked like no one would ever want to read it. Ami on the other hand was rather interested, and spent most of the day reading, her nose in the book.

Setsuna was spending a significant part of the day apologizing to Gladys for not being able to deal with anything that couldn't be handle with just one hand. And avoiding Not Tiddles, knowing that, with her arm wound, she would be able to fend the cat off as easily.

Thankfully, she had no problem at all putting letters in the Sorting Machine. Which was pretty much the majority of the necessary tasks.

The Post Office is open!

Before opening the store today, Chad may have looked through the entire area to make sure there weren't any possible little creatures or left over meteorites running around. Last thing he needed was to be grooving out again and then have the kittens be in danger all because his taste in music was all too good. Again. The coast looked clear, but Chad had the CD of Music to Never Listen To closely on hand, just in case.

Today's Mix: Fun Run Two, because he never got a chance to play it Friday.

Groovy Tunes is open!

Mary should not be working today because all she could do was rest her head on the front desk and groan. At some point Gunther mumbled to his assistant about "feminine problems" while setting up tables and chairs. He shut up fairly quickly when Mary growled something about calling Wolfgang Puck to see if he wanted to open a new restaurant.

Gunther and his assistant fled and Mary closed her eyes. So she didn't see a shadowy non-distinct figure pass through the lobby and leave a glass of water and a bottle of Midol at the front desk. When she opened her eyes again, she thought it might have been Gunther's way of apologizing. She took two pills and made a mental note to apologize for snapping at him.

At least today Gunther had forgotten the burgers and offered one of his specialties.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

Leo was playing Monopoly. And losing. It's okay, he was playing himself so he was winning too.

Photo Hut is open.

Naminé was a little nervous about coming in to work after the message she'd received about the current state of Fina.

Right. Just another oddity of Fandom. She should be growing accustomed to these by now.

The specials board for today read:

Sorry for the song
It's making our heads hurt
If you can help us stop it
We shall give you dessert

She didn't know if anyone could, but it was worth a try.

Café Fina was open.

It seemed Musubi had been filling in a lot recently. That was fine by her, though. While it wasn't battle, it was better than being a servant.

At least here, she could refuse to serve the children drinks if they annoyed her.

After making sure the zombies were taped together, Emma settled down behind the bar with a travel magazine. A weekend trip to Tahiti sounded like a good idea... Or perhaps Fiji.

(ooc: Wait for ocd! OCD up! Feel free to mod Tino for quick service!
ETA: Bedtime! Mod Tino!)

Naomi came in to work on time and set up for her shift.

Sparky's is open.
