Book Haven, Friday (07/20)

In a somewhat better mood than earlier in the week, but still quiet and on the contemplative side, Aziraphale unlocked the door to Book Haven and settled in for the day. He had a crossword to keep him company, but mostly he was staring off into space, with a distracted expression.

Luke's Diner, July 20 (Friday)

Yitzhak? Was parading around the diner in very glittery wizard's school robes and the glammest pointy hat that ever was pointy and glam.

And wielding a rolling pin, just as a pre-emptive measure against any snarky comments his kitchen staff might make about his wand. The rolling pin, however -- that was glittered all to hell and back, too.

Someone was all geared up for a midnight book release party.

The kitchen staff was starting to go lightheaded from the facepalming.

Luke's is open. Sunglasses might be a good idea.

Working wasn't bad. River could sit completely still behind the desk for an hour at least and observe the flowers neatly arranged in a vase, exploring every detail. She could also talk to the guests and to other staff when necessary.

Gunther had asked her to put up the following sign:

Sure, there was a circus in town. No, Turtle had no intention of going. They kind of freaked her out, with all the weird side-show people and the clowns....oh, geez, the clowns! Plus, she'd start thinking about Sandy if she went, she just knew she would, and that would only leave her confused and depressed, so she was going to hole up in the store with nice, comforting stocks reports and tax forms.

Today's Squishy flavors: Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Red.

GOB wasn't at the bar at opening. Tino wasn't sure where he was, but GOB made it abundantly clear that he WASN'T going to be at a bookstore on the mainland where nobody would recognize him, waiting in line for a book about a young male magic user. And if he were, it would only be for research. Becuase GOB was a magician. Or Illusionist. Whatever sounded better for the excuse for what he was NOT DOING.

Setsuna was experimenting slightly with drink combinations again, although she knew she probably would never come up with something as successful and brilliant as the bubble tea mixes. It was, however, a good way to pass the time, and she was offering them as specials. She figured that a lowered price was the least she could do for anyone brave enough to actually try them.
