Mary was feeling a little bit better after her phone call yesterday. Besides, she had been hiding in her room long enough. So she was back at the front desk today, still a bit more somber than usual. Gunther was pestering her, trying to get her to eat.

Turtle & Canary; Thursday [ 10/25 ]

Turtle was having a day, and not a good one. In fact, she'd been feeling icky and terrible and blah since she had that little argument with Jeff over his attitude about...ugh, she didn't even want to think about it, it made her so mad and upset and sad and.... Not even knowing that she probably kicked butt on her modern feminism exam (how could she have not?) was helping. Thankfully, it was inventory day, so she made Apu watch counter while she disappeared into the shelves today.

Not literally. It was Fandom, so it should probably be specified.

It was date night! That meant Melody's hair was curled, she was wearing a slinky purple top, and her toenails were a matching purple, which glimmered up from the sandals she had worn despite the rain. She was humming along to the Joan Jett CD playng on the sound system.

Bluth's Original Frozen Banana Stand, Thurs. 10/25

Eddie was sitting on the counter of the banana stand when George Michael got to work. His beady eyes were staring holes through George Michael's soul. Sometimes, like now, that bird freaking scared him.

"Go away, Eddie. Go away now or I'm going to have to do something... drastic. Something that will -- hey, wait, no, okay! You can stay there!" 

George Michael could be seen running back and forth in front of the banana stand, a seagull chasing him, for probably the rest of the day or until Eddie got tired.

What a truly sad, and remarkable, display.

Giles was still feeling out of sorts from the weekend but was doing his best to get back to normal. So he went and got coffee and donuts and opened the shop as he normally did, leaving the bottle of scotch he kept there in its hiding place under the cash register.

Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Thursday

Rikku's arm was healed now, thanks to Ronan - and before that, Katara, who she owed a thank-you to - and this morning, she had woken up to a very dim kitten attempting to eat her nose. He had mrowled happily at her being awake and settled for vicious snuggling instead of face-eating, which was good.

So while she was still not her typical bouncy self, she was at least in a better mood than her usual of late when she showed up on Thursday to open the Wellspring Arms.

Kittens were tiny little piles of Zen. Especially nose-eating ones. She wondered if Cable knew.

One of the new things in the new disc for the green screen equipment, was making people look like zombies. Leo wasn't sure if he was having fun, or scaring the crap out of himself.

Sitting behind the bar, he doddled on his school books and occasionally looked up and out across the club obviously miles away.

He'd managed to survive class, so that was good. Also good was Peter's mood.

So it wasn't as though he needed cheering up, per se.

On the other hand - time spent with a nice, cute, blonde.

Post Office, Friday

Today, the post office appeared to be empty except for Gladys, who was mopping the floor on the far side of the room.

On the counter next to the bell (with its "Please Ring Bell For Service" sign) was a big bowl of "fun size" candy bars, and behind that was a large orange sign that said "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! PLEASE TAKE ONLY ONE".

Next to the bowl was a stack of this week's Fandom Hightimes.

Sokka was hiding in the break room, peering around the door to watch the candy bowl and snickering.
