George Michale was groggy this morning. He needed a real pick-me-upper. That's why he was standing there eating a spoonful of chocolate. Coffee would be better, but sadly he didn't stop to grab a cup on his way to work.

Luke's Diner, November 2 (Friday)

Yitzhak's hair was very impressive today -- considering he had a Dolly Parton wig on (with the, ahem, requisite matching pair of other accessories) he was taking up a lot of space in the diner. Maybe twice as much as usual, considering how scrawny he was.

The kitchen staff were taking bets on how soon before he got too topheavy and fell over in those four-inch heels . . . you'd think they'd know their boss better than that by now.

Chad was thinking today was going to be another slow day at work, so, when he'd gotten a few things out of the way, he thought it might be good idea to have a revolutionary breakthrough, possibly, in the fashion modeling industry, only to discover that cats? Were awful models. And that Mopsey was a little bit of a diva, but not nearly as much as Prince Oscar Pedro, and that...other one's runway walk was just abysmal. So Chad eventually gave up and decided to just flip through magazines.

...Now, maybe a cat band...

It was no surprise that as soon as Chad went back behind the counter, the kittens found places to hide.

It had been a quiet week. Luckily the trick or treaters had avoided the church, and Gabriel had had enough time on his hands to grow seriously bored. That did not bode well. He sat perched on the backrest of one of the pews, head resting on one hand while the other was holding the cowbell. "What's the purpose of this thing?" he muttered to himself.

Robin, who had still been a little bit drunk when she woke up this morning, had finally dragged herself outside with the dogs. And once she'd moved that much, she figured she could probably make it out to find some coffee.

So that was why a very haggard-looking, bundled-up Robin was sitting outside with an enormous cup of coffee and five dogs tethered to her table.
