Renee was working.

Well, she was reading the old reports on this place, at least. This counted as working when the biggest crimes in town while she had been there seemed to be public intoxication and vandalism.

If only everything could be so easy.

She sighed and grabbed another file, stretching out her lower back before getting back to it.

After classes, Ron had ventured out of the dorms and did some exploring in town before finally deciding to check out this "Perk" thing he had heard so much about. Getting confused looks upon his requests for a "Butterbeer" and "Pumpkin Juice" he somehow ended up with double tall soy latte that the barista swore by.

Ron was of the opinion that this was probably what mud tasted like.

Laptop charged up and an almost comically large cup of tea (tea! if you'd believe it!) close at hand, Turtle came into the store ready to get lots and lots of work done and maybe, just maybe, help the occasional customer.

The "Now Hiring" sign was still in the window, and Apu was still cross about some egg situation that's best left unspoken of.

Today's Squishy flavors: Paper, Banana, Grape Judas.

Turtle & Canary is open!

Chad decided today would be a good day to just chill behind the counter a little bit and do some reading. Like, actual reading. From a book. That wasn't for school or anything, which he was actually wont to do on occation. True, it had been a while, but he didn't expect to feel so...confused by it, because he really didn't remember any of this book happening this way...

Oh, well. It was still pretty cool.

Today's mix: Couldn't Be More Random if I Tried.

Groovy Tunes is open.

Mary was surfing real estate web sites and looking at other places for sale in Ed's old neighborhood, trying to get a sense of the local property values. It looked like the real estate market was not doing well. It wasn't going to be easy to sell Ed's old condo.

As it was Sunday, Gabriel put up the note on the door. It would certainly be amusing if someone eventually took up the offer.

Do-it-yourself Sunday Service

Then he made himself a cup of coffee and found a not completely dry donut that had fallen behind a pew.

How on earth was she out of tequila? She'd gone through her stash and the bottles Squall had hidden and a few others and her secret stash and there was no liquor to be had. That meant she should go into work, right? That's where the rest of her tequila lived.

Well, while she was here, she might as well open the store. Fine.

Pixie Dust was open. Cheery as always.

One of the best things about working at Fina, Cassandra was quickly finding, was that part of her job involved eating delicious food. The cheese-grater insisted that it she couldn't provide the sort of advice customers needed if she didn't know what the things on the menu tasted like. And how was she supposed to come up with a daily special if she didn't know what was exciting enough to draw people in?

It had only taken her a single bite of cake today for her to grab the specials board and make a quick sketch of the delicious confection.

After setting that into place, Cassandra settled in to watch for customers. And finish her cake.

Cable had a laptop set up on his desk after he came downstairs this morning. A couple of commands in and he'd flipped the lid almost the entire way back down, leaving whatever he'd started to run on its own strength.

Occasionally, he checked. The rest of the time, it was paperwork again.

Jolee set up the bar and sat back, watching the band. He was trying to get used to this holiday music thing, so he had the zombies play some. If he didn't like the song, they'd get a Force Smack Upside The Head. It was even better than using a remote with a CD player.

Now Showing:

The Cutting Edge: Only With DUDES

A tale of teamwork and love on the ice, The Cutting Edge: Only With DUDES, is the story of two rival Olympic ice skaters, stripped of their gold medals and permanently banned from men's single competition. Now they've found a loophole that will allow them to qualify as a pairs team, if only they can work together to overcome the odds.

Movies were really just an excuse for popcorn. Oddly, there was no one working the concession stand. No matter, John was there on time for the movie so he set up for them.

[ooc: I'm bored so this is way open!]

Gabriel had been woken up early by the noise of the cat playing with a piece of dry donut. For such a small creature she could make quite a racket. He had ended up chasing the cat around the church to get her to stop, which had had quite the opposite effect. Now he lay exhausted on one of the pew, imagining interesting ways to get rid of the new inhabitant.
