Twas two days before Christmas and all through the lobby, the decorations were twinkling and Loki was reading like it was a hobby.

Or like he was utterly fucking bored. One or the other.

There was a stack of gifts on the desk, messily wrapped and slapped with bows to cover places where the paper ripped or ran out. There were actual gifts in the boxes but Loki had gotten bored halfway through and forgot what was in which box. That'd make for some interesting reveals whenever he started randomly giving them out to people he tolerated.

...people he liked. Shut up.

For now, the lobby lights were off and he was reading by Christmas lights.

Hinata, who’d been deliberately hiding out in her room since Saturday and only come out because she had work today, was rather surprised to find that she was relaxing, a little, as she walked around the store.

Sometimes Yei tagged around at her heels, attempting to pounce on her, or just rub affectionately against her leg. Other times all that could be heard of Yei was the skittering of little paws on the floor and a mew every now and again.

Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

Ino wasn’t entirely sure that bringing Ichigo-the-fox to work with her was a good idea, but after debating the merits of leaving him alone in her room all day, she’d figured that it was better to take her chances with him at work.

Besides, she had cookies to bribe him with if he acted up. And chicken for his lunch. When she wasn’t keeping an eye on him, or occupied with a customer, Ino went back to studying the scroll theory.

Lion-o was really late getting to work today. As he made his way from the dorms, he'd come across a lost teal deer with a red nose. "Rudolph!" he shouted, frightening the deer, which took off. Lion-o ran after it, with Snarf chasing after Lion-o, shouting that they didn't have time for this.

The staff at Café Fina managed to keep things running until Lion-o and Snarf finally got there, minus one teal deer.

It wasn't her normal day to work but Amber came in early to grab a last minute Christmas gift, for herself, and saw that Apu was manning the store alone. She worried briefly about Jan.

"Okay, Apu, I'll stay and help out since I don't have much else to do today."

He bobbed his head at  her, mumbling something, and went back to sweeping behind the counter.

Amber took off her coat and mittens and settled herself behind the counter. She wished she had some hot cocoa.

What with the whole...pony thing, Pepper had decided it might be wise if she selected a few things to put on layaway, as far as Tony's gifts went. And she might have picked out something nice for herself, too.

What? Just because this Christmas was in Fandom and not Malibu or New York didn't mean that anything should really change. So that's what she was doing, via both the phone and the internet, while she was at the shop today.

Marshall had come in early today because he had a birthday party to set up for. Sam was a favorite student of his and he was happy to help him out. He was slightly disappointed that the party was for Peter and not Lucas, however. The poor boy must be crushed.

Oh well, there's gonna be cake. That will make anybody feel better.

Adam opened up the store on time and settled behind the counter. He was all packed and ready to head home for the holidays. He couldn't wait to see his family and friends.

For right now, he was content with reading some comics and helping anyone that stopped by. And perhaps humming Christmas songs thanks to the weetiny carolers he passed by on the walk down.

Maybe he was spending too much time in this place, Simon thought to himself, but it was beginning to feel like something vaguely similar to a home. He had picked up a glossy magazine of some kind, and tried to interest himself in the fashions available around here, but it didn't quite work. Somehow it was depressing that the only Christmas present he was likely to get was from that annoying landlord.
