There were no weetiny carolers today, nor was there any candy rain, or gifts hidden in unexpected places, or chocolate behind doors, or liquids that were not water coming out of the plumbing, or anything like that, but Jen was determined not to let their absence get her into a post-Christmas mope.

Scratch that; there were mushrooms growing from the ceiling fan again. Really nice looking fresh crimini mushrooms, at that, and how they managed to do that without a growing medium Jen wasn't too worried about, considering what mushrooms usually grew in. Because hi, restaurant. She shrugged resignedly, got a knife from the kitchen, then climbed up onto the counter to start harvesting.

They had a great recipe for baked herbed mushrooms, after all, so why lose an opportunity?

Chad figured he could have probably skipped coming into work today with good reason, but the week had felt off with all the holiday stuff going on, so it was nice to settle into something familiar and routine, to sit behind the counter and think about what the next semester (his last semester, maaan...) might shape out to be like.

If asked, Viki would mention that yesterday had been a day much like any other, and that was all she needed. The holidays had, for the most part, aside from the decorations, passed her by untouched and unconsidered.

She was in a good mood as she doodled in one of her sketchbooks, the lack of classes had taken away her routine, and that was all to the better. She didn’t need to get caught up in a routine, now.

Twas the day after Christmas, and all through the flower shop... A rather large creature was stirring his hot chocolate.

Hurley was on duty, all happy to be there and everything. He doubted there'd be a post-Christmas run on flowers, but he was ready for it, if there was.

Jolee looked downright giddy tonight as Tino started to take down all of the Christmas decorations. Honestly, Tino had never seen his boss so happy.

And then he started putting up the New Year's decorations.

"DAMMIT! I can't wait until next weekend!" Jolee yelled.

And Tino smiled.

Jenny arrived at the store very late. In fact, it was closer to closing time than opening, but she was still nursing her Christmas hangover, so she thought she was actually doing pretty well. But then, Jenny had a high opinion of herself.
