Sean hadn't gotten much sleep the past few nights -- no particular reason, he was just sleeping like crap -- so he looked as sleep-deprived as he felt as he went through the store and got everything ready to open.

He settled behind a register with what was possibly the world's largest cup of coffee in existence.

The Help Wanted sign was in the window.

Still in a cheerful mood from the party, Lacey all but waltzed into the diner in the morning and promptly lost herself in a frenzy of cleaning and straightening.

The kitchen guys groaned and stayed out of her way; it was obviously going to be one of Those Days. Weren't people supposed to clean like that when they were stressed or something, not in a good mood?

If anyone thought that Ender would be in late today because of his late radio night (and subsequent walk home with Ben; he still didn't quite understand the appeal of waving all of those flags, but he had a good guess about the whys) they would be completely mistaken. With the work done on the satellite at last, his hands were free to tackle other problems.

Such as entomology. Fiona had reawakened the urge to go picking through terrestrial biology books in him, and Ender spent an awful lot of time reading off the screen of his laptop.

It was a holiday, Brooke didn't have anywhere to be, and the fact that she was the first one out here had her tsk'ing. It didn't occur to her that maybe people had classes, and things to do. If it had, she would have pitied them.

She laid out a towel and sat down in her bathing suit, wondering if she shouldn't have just organized a barbecue party, if she hadn't seen any others advertised. Oh, well, another time. Besides, she completely assumed people would gravitate here anyway.

Worf was up early to move his belongings back to his room and finished just in time to open Wellspring.

Currently he was taking inventory of all the weapons in the store. Granted it was a bit silly since no weapons are actually sold but Worf was a stickler for details.

[The OCD is currently on the grill being slowly smoked until it is ready to fall off the bone and then smothered in barbecue sauce]

They had cases. Real, actual cases that needed to be worked on. There was one small problem with this.

If anyone came into the office needing something, they might want to bring loud cymbals or maybe a brass band, because that was going to be the only thing that would pull Turtle's attention away from the work she was doing at the desk.

She'd reviewed the cases, scribbled down notes on them in a very special shorthand that only she could interpret (thank you, Sydelle Pulaski, for the brilliant idea), highlighting all the details that she felt were important, and then going and hunting down in law books anything that might be related and scanning through even the most minute details and picking through the most convoluted legal jargon.

And loving eeeevvveeerrrry minute of it.

It was all framework right now. Know the stuff first. Get all the clues. But, remember, Wexler, it's not what you have, it's what you don't have that counts.

Today was going to be a very good day.

Going through her radio transcripts for the weekend, Daisy was thinking she really shouldn't be that amused by the comments of two debatably pubescent boys.

She probably also shouldn't be amused by Ralph's presumably rolling eyes when she reminded him that, not only was she British and didn't observe American holidays, they were a police force, not a bank. Justice didn't take days off.

But she was going to stick with being easily amused today, because it took a little bit of the edge off of how bloody sore she was from last night. It was a good sore, but still...she might have to hit up the gym after work today to keep those muscles from being impossible to deal with tomorrow.

This wasn't Eliza's holiday at all - Remembrance Day wouldn't even be her holiday for another seven years or so - but she recognized the sentiment well enough, and it made her think, not unhappily, of a friend she was very glad had come back from the Boer War. A friend she would never have met if he hadn't.

The sign outside was hung with spring flowers - too soon for poppies to mean anything to her but opium dens - and Eliza was behind the counter with a bit of a wistful smile.

The sign in the window read, as usual:

Covent Garden Flowers

Eliza Doolittle, prop.
Fresh flowers from nosegays to bouquets!
Delivery available upon request.

Alex had done some research over the weekend and now had a few more spells to practice. There was a lot to be found on the world wide wizard web, if you knew where to look.

Opening up the store on time, Alex straightened up a couple of displays and tidied up whatever else needed it. Thinking of some of the spells she knew, Alex had to laugh at the one that turned Max into a sandwich. That was a classic.

The Magic Box is open.

Zack certainly couldn't complain about today! There had been swordfighting and digging in the snow in class and it was entirely possible that he was going to have to work on at least pretending to be cold when it resembled an icebox outside. He felt kind of weird being the only one in short sleeves in the terrain class. But hey, that was life, right?

And now it was raining, but he could handle navigating a little more weather, especially for ice cream with a cute bond girl who blushed easily!

"It's never too cold for ice cream," he decided, grinning at her. The bouncing would probably take care of the chill, right? "What do you want, Dinah?"

[For the other bouncy one, but open for anyone who might want rainy day ice cream, of course!]

Bender was celebrating today with rough drink and fine cigars. Eh, he wasn't sure which holiday he was drinking to, but humans were bound to have something worth drinking about, and if there wasn't then he could make one up instead.

He'd always liked the sound of Benderamini, the holiday dedicated to the most Bendersome of robots. That'd do.

Here he was, Bender, hard at work leaning by the forge; if anything he deserved a raise for coming in.

So one second, Tyler was minding his own goat-y business, testing his horns on an old sofa, chewing on some especially tasty-smelling toaster innards. It was simple, being a goat, but it was kind of cool. Lots to eat, lots of new smells.

The next, Tyler was human, naked, and swearing up a storm as he contemplated the shortest route home. It hadn't felt this chilly when he had fur.

[OOC: Open to anybody who wants to talk to the naked ex-goat.]
