Lacey wasn't talking about the weekend, much to the staff's dismay this morning.

Look, when you spent all of Sunday hoping to no avail for the contents of your wine rack to turn human, you wouldn't want to talk about it either.

For several reasons.

Today's Specials
Avocado, Mushroom, and Cheese Omelet
Avocado Club Sandwich
Avocado Burger

It was apparently going to be that kind of day.

NOW HIRING -- Several shifts available!

Luke's is open. There may be guacamole any second.

With Tony being gone for awhile and Coyote leaving the store to her and Arya, Annja had decided to pick up an extra shift at the store. So, right after class on Monday, Annja was in the store and behind the counter with paperwork and the phone. She figured that she could make calls to suppliers between customers.

COYOTE MEDICINE
Native Artifacts and Medicine Man Services
THE MEDICINE WOMAN IS IN.

Daisy was having some mixed feelings about the fact that her badge was back to being just a badge. It made a lot more sense this way, having it on her again in its rightful place (technically she supposed she could have had it attached to her in its other form, too, but that was insinuating dirty things about justice, and Daisy wasn't exactly cool with that), but she did rather like having her badge around to talk to and almost make her feel jaded with some of the right and upstanding things she had to say.

That, and if the badge was still a person, she could help Daisy with all these weekend reports that had stacked up over the weekend regarding NPC citizens getting all in a knot over things randomly missing at the same time strange people randomly showed up in their houses.

"You'd think," she said to her badge, because apparently a weekend was all she needed to get into the habit of just chatting with her like an old friend, "they'd be a little less susceptible to worrying about these things if they live here, but no..."

In an attempt to seem productive, Rachel was hunkering down behind the desk in the lobby with a large cup of coffee (made from beans at the store where she didn't have to practically sell an arm and a leg for them, praise the Lord and capitalism!) and a stack full of mail, which she began to sort through.

"Bill, bill, bill. Advertisement. Bill. Ad, ad, ew."

That one was an international letter with an E. Axelroot return address, so it was promptly bitched straight over Rachel's shoulder. Rachel took a moment to ignore the fact that the envelop had just complained as it flew, when she really just meant to pitch it, and then the thought struck her that there might actually be a check in the envelop. Unlikely, but she quickly went to retrieve it anyways, opening it up.

It was definitely not a check. "Eeben, you dirty son of a..."

But she wasn't going to say it. She was too much of a lady. She was just going to crumple it up with great satisfaction and pitch it over her shoulder again. Good riddance.

Ender opened up the store quick and early that morning, his laptop folded under his arm. He sat down at the desk and put it down, frowning as it seemed to have reached almost acordian-like proportions.

Brushing it off as yet another spat of madness by the island (beyond the part of him that catalogued it as he always did), Ender unfolded his laptop and got to work.

The nice thing about being Turtle Wexler was that even when there wasn't much to do, you could make there be something to do. Turtle came into the store that morning with the intention of putting together an entire new system of paperwork that would allow her to come in Monday mornings and plan everything for the entire week ahead of her. Orders, shipments, stocking, changing the mopheads, marking clearance, you name it.

And then once that was done, she could put it in a spreadsheet.

And then color code it.

Ta-da! She was very impressed with her task-orientation.

The "Now Hiring" sign in the window, touting the advantages of working at Turtle & Canary, was still present in the window and decorated with a new coat of glitter.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Red, Pumpernickel, Grap eJusas.

Hat was no longer human.

Although she knew this was a good thing, it was also a little sad for Aphrodite. She'd just begun to get used to having someone around all the time.

So after opening the blinds and flipping the sign, she was sitting on a stool by the counter, petting the hat and talking to it.

" . . . so glad you're not real anymore, cause I was getting tired of having to zap things back into place, and clean the glass after you drew on it, and . . . and explain why the dirty pictures on the greeting cards were funny." She sighed. "Yeah. Real glad you're not human anymore."

'Dite was all alone and a little bummed, but in honor of the weekend and her visitors yesterday, she had a new sign in the window:

All books 25% off!
'Amazing Sex for Dingbats' 50% off!

Decadent Delights was open.

(ooc: Open like the windows on a hot day, with a chance of SP. The heat melted the ocd. )

Morgan stared at his phone.

...he was just about done with Reid's room, the angel had his room, and he knew that Murphy's Law should require that his phone ring since he'd gotten zero sleep last night.

"Yeah, you just try it."

Of course, the lack of a case to fly off on didn't help him with all the reports and paperwork and--crap, he had to call Ino today to let her know he had her design done. Ugh, it was going to be a long day.

Morgan's Hardware and Repair
Home improvement supplies - Plumbing - Electrical Work
Painting - Custom Carpentry - Installation

Castiel had been in Fandom half a week. On the one hand, this was not a long time, especially not for a creature who measured his age in millennia. On the other, this was a long time for Castiel to be on Earth with no idea what he was meant to do. It was, in fact, an incredibly long time for that.

Which was how, despite his knowledge that his father was, in fact, no more or less present at the Church and attending holy grounds than He was anywhere else on the island, Castiel found himself following Dean Winchester's advice and seeking out Our Lady of Fandom.

In which the angel is questioning, and receives an answer -- of sorts )

Eventually, Castiel would make his way to find the middle-aged American man and inform him that, as an angel, he actually had no need for keys to basements or a Mildred to clean up after him. For the time being, he preferred to stand in front of the building and watch the passersby on the street.

Maybe if he reminded himself of the fact that he liked mankind and appreciated their beauty as creations of his father, he'd feel less inclined to deal with his frustration by breaking things.

Ronon had just wanted to go swimming. And since Lindsay had been the one who'd taught him the importance of swimwear, it had seemed appropriate to acquire her a properly sized bathing suit.

It wasn't his fault Barbies wore a lot of hot pink. The salesgirl at the toy store had insisted every Barbie required a raft for the pool (so as not to get her hair wet) and then she'd attempted to talk him into purchasing a Barbie Dream House for his apartment despite his promises that he wouldn't have a Barbie for all that long. Needless to say the clerk had not believed him. Ronon had never glared so much at such a tiny woman to no effect before. He was sort of impressed.

Which probably explained why he'd purchased a red Barbie Ferrari.

All of this led to Monday afternoon, when Ronon was swimming laps in the pool while a Harley Davidson Barbie, clad in hot pink bikini, floated on a tiny raft in the water.

Heaven help him if she fell in.

Alex opened up the Magic Box on time, somewhat relieved her wand had reverted to its inanimate state. That had been interesting, to say the least.

She settled behind the counter, after pulling a book of minor spells off the shelf. She had some research to do.

The Magic Box is open!

Miss Elizabeth Bennet felt slightly more calm, this week, about her shift at the Book Haven. She had survived last week with no major mishaps; it gave one a decided sense of confidence.

Finally finishing up the wandering around town to see where everything was, Jean stopped at quite possibly the worst place to eat around.

Hey, she was still young and skinny, she could get away with a burger and fries still! And she's be dead before she'd end up fat, so it all worked!

Irulan entered the shop with trepidation. Her hat collections returned to their hat forms and while she eventually came to accept her hats coming to life it was still disconcerting. She was glad when they all turned into hats again.

She poked her head in and to her eternal relief noted that everything was as it was. Irulan flipped the sign to 'open' and entered.

So what if it was a Monday night? She had a concert she was going to put on, damn it.

She was choosing to believe that her back-up dancers fellow Dolls were stuck in traffic, or had found really cute guys and were late getting back from hanging out with them. And that the lack of chairs, audio equipment, and lights meant that this was a charity event.

"HELLO OUT THERE!" she yelled to whoever may be passing by. "Are y'all ready to get down?!"

If anyone caught this on tape, Shilo would probably die from embarrassment, if not from shock caused by the revelation 'dear God where have I been hiding those BOOBS.

[Still under the effects of her gremlin bite, so Shilo aka Nicole is putting on a concert for Fandom. Open like a park is.]
