Raven really didn't understand what fish had to do with a store like this, but from what she knew of Greek history, the gods could be a bit...odd. So the sign she found waiting at Decadent Delights shouldn't have surprised her, but she had to stare at it a good long moment to let it sink in. It wasn't so much the voting, it was the reward. She'd grown to accept that some people would want some sort of battery-operated device to stimulate themselves or others, but why would they want one shaped like a bug-eyed fish?

Oh, just wait until she discovered furries.

Decadent Delights was open.

Loki was vaguely aware that the time for new people flocking to the island was near and he was working really fucking hard to prepare his building. Okay, no, he was sprawled on the lobby counter, lights off but mood lights twinkling. He'd woken up feeling fucking melancholy for some reason and hadn't been able to shake it yet.

It was really fucking annoying when you couldn't place why you were feeling the way you were feeling. It pissed him off and by the time he came out to the lobby, he was both pissed and melancholy. It was time like this he really wished he could fucking drink.

Another day at Things Reborn and yet another clown painting had surfaced.

It was at the front counter with a sign that read "Please find a good home for this painting! Only $1! Negotiable!"

It wasn't that Layla found the picture scary or anything, it just seemed like a good week to put clown paintings for sale.

[No OCD. Open with some cautions for SP as work will be eating my brain today.]

Mary hadn't checked her voice mail in a few days, so that was her first priority at the front desk. There was only one strange message from Sunday, left by a little girl who called her Aunt Mary. It left her a little puzzled, since Danny's daughter was way too young to be calling her and there was no one else with kids who would think of her as Aunt Mary. It was still kind of nice to hear, though.

There were more paperwork now with the new hats it was the only thing she didn't like about the new hat line. Paperwork.

Fortunately, she had tea.

With Ellie out of town, Dani came in to feed the horses and change their bedding. She wasn't afraid of putting in some hard work from time to time, though she'd like to keep that fact on the down low.

But her conversation with Veronica last week was still on her mind, and the next thing she knew, she was telling her story to Kally. "What if I find my mother and she turns out to be just as awful as Junior's mother? I'm probably better off not knowing about her. I mean, my dad really knows how to pick them, doesn't he?" she asked. Kally neighed in response, which just made Dani feel silly.

The Gig was open, and Dani wouldn't mind some human visitors to talk to.

...Geoffrey was once more at the end of his rope, but this time he was holding on tenaciously, unwilling to let go. They had the performances next week, goddammit, and he was going to make this happen if he had to go find God himself and hold a shaving razor to his nose.

Sophie had been a godsend; he definitely owed her a drink. Zack had... done his best. His actors had, by and large, returned and been reasonably good about the insanity that had been inflicted on them.

Tony was being chained to the theatre when he got back, goddammit.

But the show must go on! So today was dress rehearsal.

[ocd up! I thank you all for your patience the last week or so.]

Book Haven, Tuesday

Hinata was making a list of books she wanted to buy, while Yei prowled around the store, and contemplating making herself some sort of challenge—perhaps, for every few people she talked to, she could buy a book? If it was a set number, but not so large as to be intimidating...

It was something to think about anyway.

Book Haven is Open.

Revoltingly cheerful J-Pop was blaring from the speakers today and Ino was singing along as she bounced around the store cleaning, rearranging, and well, working.

Shut up. She liked J-Pop. It was almost the same as listening to music from home. (Funny, that.)

Anyway, she was there, and Nothing Was Wrong and see? She could totally sing like an angel. If angels happened to have a taste for J-Pop. Whatever. They totally could.

John was doing inventory today. Because it needed to be done. It was in no way an effort to distract himself from the fact that his eldest was leaving tomorrow.

Nope, not at all.

The Magic Box was open.

Jack was reading and rereading the script for the play during work, feet up on the counter, chair leaned back, reciting lines from memory with his eyes closed.

He was working very hard.

"Come now," Jack told a group of squirrels, clapping his hands together. "How will you ever learn to sail if you can't tell the difference between port and starboard?"

The squirrels, it should be noted, weren't paying the slightest bit of attention to Jack.

[OOC: Why yes, I am bored. How could you tell?]

Max had shown up just a bit early to pick up Rachel. Which had just meant he'd had to wait that much longer. Not that he minded. Some things were worth the wait, and the truth was that the whole thing was familiar. And it was a game he enjoyed.

Still, she hadn't kept him waiting too long (just enough to make the point), and he'd led the way out to the beach. He'd mostly stuck to small talk on the walk over before lapsing into silence just as they reached the beach. He hung back just a bit so he could watch Rachel's face when she got a look at the view.

You could learn a lot from someone watching their reactions.

The first collection of Mrs. Desmond's syndicated comic strip 'Mister Mephisto' had just been released. Yes, Tim was being quite shameless in putting a few copies of it on prominent Display.

The Android's Dungeon is open.

Still Hiring!

Oz was flipping through a few of the greeting cards on sale. Many of them were landscapes, or animals. Very nice portraits. But there were an awful lot of portraits of gorgeous Native American girls. He wondered what the real purpose or target audience of these were.

"Hm."

Welcome to Coyote Medicine.

Marshall was reading the supermarket tabloids today. Apparently there has been a new Bigfoot sighting.

"See, Tino. This is why I'm never going to visit the Pacific Northwest. I'm not about to get my ass Bigfooted."
