Chloe was happy to be at work and this was evident by the way she was shelving comics and straightening out the shelves. She had some quiet music playing and was wondering what would be the next comic series she should try to read. If she was working in a comic book store, she should make sure she had plenty of knowledge about what she was selling, right?

She selected a couple of titles and went back behind the counter. Perhaps she could read a couple of these before she went to the club fair later this afternoon?

Android's Dungeon was open.

It was raining syrup. Therefore, the horses and goats at The Gig were spending the day indoors where it was dry and unsticky. As for Dani, she was trying to find enough room to groom each of the horses in turn, starting with Smudge.

The Gig was open, and Dani would be happy to see visitors, hopefully ones with umbrellas.

Mary had a plate of pancakes and fresh syrup at the front desk, because it seemed like the best thing to do on a rainy day like this. "You know, Gunther, this brings back memories of that pancake place Danny, Mike and I used to go to, except without the topless waitresses," she said. Gunther volunteered to take off his shirt if it made her feel better, but Mary declined the offer.

There are some things that are just WRONG.

Some that are just... evil. They're beyond wrong and into the blackest pits of what is against life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

...Liir considered syrup rain to be one of those things, if only because he'd had to fly to the store in a garbag bag and he was going to have to soak the brush at the end in water just to get all the sticky sweetness out.

Nonetheless, the shop was open. [if OCDless]

"I said I wanted two bagels," Ray told the guy over the phone. "Two. Can you count? One, two. It is not epic, uh, math. This should not be hard to get."

He glared across his desk. He dumped his feet on his desk.

"No, I did not order two hundred. What the hell am I going to do with two thousand bagels?"

Mainly because there was no other space left in his office.

[[ open, but some SP as I go across the country today ]]

Karla was a little grumpy about being up so early on a Friday, especially since she didn't have classes, but her internal clock was clearly having issues. She'd come home after Caritas last night, was almost asleep before she fell into bed, and then had woken up while there were still stars in the sky.

What. The. Hell.

She'd tried going back to sleep, but that hadn't worked. So, she'd messaged Francine's phone to let her know to meet her on the beach whenever she was ready to fly and headed out to the beach before dawn.

It was a pretty time of day, even if Karla was happier not seeing it often. The air was cool, the sky was turning very interesting colors, and birdsong was much pretter when you were already awake, rather than trying to stay asleep when they started. Karla admired the view for a bit before calling in Ender's web. It was as good a time as any to keep her promise. She spread the web out on the beach and then called in several tongues of witchfire. The silk burned easily, curling upon itself, turning first brown and then black before combusting into flame. In almost any other circumstance, Karla would have been saddened to light such a lovely web on fire. Today, though, she was just pleased to be rid of the thing.

When it was reduced completely to ashes, she scooped them all up and spread them in the water, to be carried far, far away by the waves. And she felt a lot better for having done so.

[Karla's here for one, but open beach is open!]

Dinah had snagged an umbrella and made her way out to the beach after lunch, not sure if she and Azula would be sparring or not, with the syrup raining down. By the time she got there, though, it was mostly just sprinkling, so she settled down under her umbrella and practiced her meditation while she waited for Azula.

Dinah. Not-Dinah. Shields go up. Shields go down. Me. Not-me. Nervous. Not-nervous. ... okay, so that last one needed work.

The store was already closed when 'Dite got there, but at least it seemed like the syrup was slowing in its rainy descent.

She looked up at the sky in irritation as she reached for the door handle. "The least you could have done was make it good maple syrup, not this sugary sap stuff."

Then she was inside, turning on the lights, closing her umbrella and putting a cardboard box on the counter.

A scuffling noise from the box made her smile and she carefully opened it up to reveal a kitten with orange fur.

"This is your new home! Yes, it is! And you're going to have such fun! Yes, you are!"

Picking the kitten up, she made sure the door was unlocked and headed for the comfy chairs.

"You and I will wait for Dinah right over here. She's going to love playing with you!"

Immediately entranced by the fish bowl, the kitten put his paws up on the side of the glass and stared at the slowly moving fish inside. Was it just her, or did those stupid fish seem to move faster?

(ooc: 'Dite's waiting for Dinah! There'll be another post later that everyone's invited to be a part of!)

Arya didn't not expect to get hit with syrup on the way to work. That was kind of expected and a tiny bit ridiculous. Really.

Making sure to rinse the syrup off her hands and satisfied that it was all gone, Arya put up the sign in the window.

Although she remembered punctuality being high on Aphrodite's list when she was hired in, Valentine was a little late for work that evening, thanks to the club fair. She wanted to at least appear to be interested in being involved, though, so she was just going to have to deal with it.

Being late, unfortunately, didn't give her much time to go through and really seek out a theme, but she didn't want her boss to be entirely disappointed with her, and went and found a few videos about clubs to put on display at the counter.

If she got time, she was going to try to weed through some sorority ones, but there was probably a million of those.

She wasn't even going to touch anything to relate to the syrup. Not. Even. Going there. Valentine had class.

Dite's Decadent Delights is open!

This . . . this was not good.

Aphrodite was hunting in the dark for the sign of little kitty prints on the sticky ground. Every once in a while she'd mutter to herself.

"I will never do something like this again. Never."

Suddenly she stopped and looked at the trail. "Dinaaaahh! Not the park! What are you gonna do, stalk the flamingos?"

Then she was jogging down the street calling loudly, "Dinah, here, kitty-kitty! DINAHHHHH!"

And when she found Dinah!kitty? She hoped she remembered how to turn her back.

(ooc: Dite's looking for Dinah!kitty, but post is Open for anyone wishing to join the hunt! Or laugh at the goddess floundering in the syrupy streets! No ocd, just jump in where ever you want!)

Marion managed to avoid getting doused with syrup when she came into work. Tino, on the other hand, was not so lucky. Now he was walking around with napkins and other bits of paper he brushed against stuck on him. Poor Tino.

[I totally pushed all my homework back until tonight so I'm gonna be slow]
