Sophie had the gallery open early today; and a reservation on Portalocity at two. And another in New York, to get her back in Fandom at precisely 75 minutes before curtain. And back in New York after her death scene... and then back to Fandom as soon as the curtain went down. The timing on her latest enterprise had to be precise. In the meantime, make-up and outfit for the gala, with her costume zipped up in a garment bag to be taken along.

Exhibit: Susan Seddon Boulet: Goddesses and Shamans.

The sign in the front window still said: Employees Wanted.

Somewhere between the school building after first period and her arrival here, the inevitable if delayed 'How in the hell did it get to be September already?!?' question hit Katchoo. Geez, that was depressing, and Clocky got an extra glare or three as it tagged along after her.

She was mortified to realize she was humming that damn Cher song with the video that'd been a huge scandal, with the see-through outfit and the sailors, and immediately dug her earphones out of her pocket to fix that.

As soon as she could untangle the goddamned things. Argh. She might be stuck with the earworm a while.

[OOC: No OCD and no witty lyric about it today because all the songs stuck in my head are from Animaniacs and everything I came up with was scary. 'tis open, of course.]

Hoshi marched into the kitchen clutching an armload of books. "You're on your own today, Gunther," she announced before taking a seat at the desk and opening her book. Never mind that it was only the first week of classes. Hoshi was already getting in mental shape for final exams.

Sprawling on the squishy blue mats piled in one corner of the gym was far more appealing to Dimitri than folding his long frame into a tiny office chair. One involved future back pain and being holed up in a tiny office overlooking the elliptical machines and the other gave him freedom to observe a greater portion of the gym without looking like he was observing.

Especially when nothing interesting was happening and so he was reading. No judging.

After her class, Annja hurried to the store to get everything straightened up and get the store open.

Today, she was trimming down the display of Dreamcatchers. They had sold a lot of them, but she was pretty sure that they weren't going to need to order any more for awhile.

She put in a CD of appropriate music and moved around the store.

Tara opened the shop after Ethics class and went straight for a certain book. If she and Tony really were going to practice locating spells, she wanted to be good at them.

Eventually, after she'd made the ball of light zap around the room looking for her a few times, she felt confident enough to send it to find Mr. Moxy. The kitten was very confused by the new toy he couldn't quite grab.

The Magic Box was open.

Azula looked around the beach. This was where she and Dinah would spar and while Azula was certain what the outcome of the match would be Azula liked being prepared. She studied the terrain with a practiced eye. The sand was compact and firm enough to walk on and there were few rock formations around the area.

She walked around the beach until she was familiar with the terrain.

The sun was setting and she could feel some of her power ebb away as it slowly made it vanished. Unlike other Firebenders the day turning into night didn't mean her power was considerably lessened it actually only meant her fire was now at par with that of a regular Firebender.

She crouched into a Kung-fu Firebending stance and proceeded to move through the forms only this time she let her fire loose. Every punch and kick brought with it a corresponding blue flame. Agni, she missed this.

Savannah was behind the counter of the store with catalogs spread over the surface and a rainbow of pens and highlighters. They were heading into Fall sports season and she wanted to make sure the store had all of the required items and accessories for this. Therefore, as she highlighted things she thought they needed, she was also writing a list on her clipboard. She also might be envisioning new ways to re-organize the store when the shipments came in.

Savannah also had a catalog of signs that she was flipping through as she had decided the store needed a new sign.

You should feel sorry for Sean when she decided to do this.

Nast's is open.

With the new semester underway, one might think that Nathan would have settled for his teaching job and respectfully left the Wellspring so that he could better focus on the daunting task of teaching.

Of course, he was teaching the history of sex to a bunch of teenagers, most of whom probably would spend most of the class with their heads buried under their desks, trying to will themselves into spontaneous combustion. And so he wasn't terribly concerned about the subject matter suffering any for the sake of keeping himself healthily occupied with a second job.

If anybody needed him today, he'd be occasionally alternating between counting the stock that would never sell and poking idly at lesson plans that he probably wasn't going to stick to anyhow, considering who he was teaching alongside.

[OCD coming up!]

Maron was thinking, as she got to the store a bit late—that happened when you had a first period class that left you rather out of sorts—and realized that she was definitely losing her mind when she remembered she had another class today, this time last period.

What had she been thinking? Two classes and work was rather a terrifying schedule for a day. Stretching, Maron shook her head.

And she still had to take her vole out to tea! And—decide if she was going to the play or not tonight. Maaan.

For once Lindsay wasn't working on Stark Industry security issues. Today she was working a case.

The call from Jacobi had come in early in the morning and for a brief few seconds, Lindsay thought she was back in San Francisco again when she heard that grizzled voice. It wasn't often that Warren admitted that he needed help but apparently Tom and him were getting a lot of heat on the case.

Cut to spare the talky/murder scene parts )

Stark's was open. Be wary of the girl looking at crime scene photos.

Between Edward leaving (wah!), the play happening again tonight, and sparring with Azula tomorrow, Dinah's mood was all over the place. But she thought she'd come to the right decision about something else.

She was explaining it to the flowers as she was watering them, because she may not have had Ino's connection with them, but they'd still been wonderful to work with all summer.

Having a definite MacFinlay meant that he was reasonably all right today, though he was still in the position of finding another Dougan unless Maron came back (which he doubted).

All the same, after Tuesday he wasn't quite so worried. Hopefully, nothing insane would happen this time around. ...then again, his knuckles were sore from knocking on wood so much.

[ocd up!][and once more ooc note as we need another Dougan (unless Maron wants to come back?)]

The shop wasn't supposed to be open for a couple of hours yet, but she'd handwavily agreed to be up early to meet Fiona. They were going to look through some catalogs to help Fiona choose a gift for Griff. For this reason there were four different catalogs spread over the counter.

Aphrodite wasn't reading them, though. Her conversation with Gibbs had been running through her head since the previous night. An idea had been brought up. A ridiculous idea.

But now it wouldn't go away. Instead of the catalogs for Fiona, Aphrodite was reading something completely different. Whatever it was, it was hardcover, very thick, with small print.

And it wasn't making 'Dite happy.

"This is the kind of stuff they're teaching counselors now? No wonder mortals are so screwed up!"

(ooc: Post is open. Dite's at the store early for Fiona, but anyone's welcome after that.)

It was Thursday again, which meant Castiel was behind the pulpit. He seemed especially interested this week in keeping an ear tuned to the choir -- apparently he'd finally gotten over finding himself involuntarily singing for his first sermon.

When it came time for him to speak, he remained silent for a long moment, looking over the congregation with his usual blank, but slightly curious expression, his hands resting lightly on either side of the stand where he had a distinct lack of laptop, bible, or notes of any kind.

Hark, the herald angel talks about singing. )

Even after three thousand years, Aphrodite didn't actually get hungry. But occasionally she felt like having some type of mortal food, and while she didn't call it a craving, it essentially was.

Which was why she'd zapped herself over to Ching Tai's between Fiona's leaving the shop and the time the shop was supposed to open.

For a moment she stood back away from it and looked around. Yep. There it was to the right, Fandom Town Hall. Then she looked to the left, across the street, and grinned.

Fandom Trooper Station. How interesting.

Wearing a sly grin she made her way inside and up to the counter.

"Hi. Do you make special deliveries?"

(ooc: Open for all your Ching Tai needs. Feel free to talk to 'Dite after she sets up her surprise. She's ready to flirt with anyone.)

New people were here, and Jon was a happy boy. No siblings to worry about, and no room changes to mess things up for him.

As such, it was a Tom Petty sort of day. Yes, Tom Petty. Do not ask, just enjoy the sounds of Free Fallin' drifting from the doors of the store.

It was good to be back. She'd missed last week's shift because she was off, in Edge, killing monsters and blackmailing her boss into a maybe-possibly-totally-not-a-date. One that wasn't going to happen for several months, if ever. Clearly, this meant she should find a hot outfit, ASAP.

And she needed more shoes. This store had such amazingly cute shoes ...

The paperwork was done, there were no phone calls, not even the prank variety and unlike other people Reese didn't like surfing the net.

She slouched on her desk and sighed.

At this point she'll even take a call about missing ducks.

After all of his classes were finished, Arthur could go for a good walk. With his dog. Who had hopefully not been spoiled too much. ...A walk that, coincidentally, also involved his manservant, which was not to say he was specifically stalking the boy, he was just... spending some time with him in a way that didn't involve hovering at all.

"No, Bryn," he called at the dog, "Come back here."

The dog sat down. What had Merlin been feeding it?

Ben rushed into the bar very, very late. "Sorry! Sorry!"

Tino stared at Ben. One of the zombies was at the bar, apparently drunk. There was broken glass all around him. Apparently drunk zombies weren't careful with their glasses. Tino held out a broom and a mop for Ben to use to clean up the mess after he helped the drunk zombie away from the bar.

"That's fair. I am late, after all," Ben said as he grabbed the zombie carefully and pulled him gently off his bar stool.

First day at a new job, and Lily started off plenty excited. She got in early, got herself familiar with the place, figured out where everything was, drooled over some of the supplies, and waited for customers.

Then thoughts started entering her head. They started off nice and simple like Retail, huh? Wouldn't have figured myself doing that job at my age.

And then they ended at OH MY GOD I'M DOING A TEENAGER'S JOB.

She was fine, really. Or at least she'd get over it. Ignore the little personal crisis happening behind the counter.

[No OCD as I should be sleeping. Yeeeah, that's the ticket.]
