It was another uneventful day at work, which involved Ender, a tiny reactor, and a laptop. This time, it was writing emails, rather than reading them; he had a few things to get his fingers into to do with the colonies, considering how Earth was dealing with them right now.

He kept finding tiny hints about the situation on Earth in the emails he got, but it was obvious that they had restricted that kind of knowledge to him. He was piecing it together in the back of his mind, even though it didn't seem relevant to him, and he had more important things to look into.

There was no future for him on Earth, and he hadn't cared for quite some time now.

Labor Day had no meaning for Worf. And even if he did he'd probably come to work anyway.

So while others might be out grilling food and enjoying the day, Worf was at his usual position behind the counter glaring at any customers who come into the shop under the mistaken impression they might be able to buy a weapon.

Turtle had set out with a clipboard to work on some inventory, so she could have some fun throwing together neat little charts and graphs showing how first week newbie sales had gone. This was going very well, especially since Turtle did love doing inventory, all until she reached the section of the store with all the fish stuff.

...stupid fish. Turtle tried to do inventory there, but found herself with quite the block for concentration after last night's...epiphany. So she changed her directive for the day and put together a sign:

Special One-Day Only Clearance Sale!
All Fish Must Go!
60% Off All Fish Merchandise!
Fish Bowls, Fish Sticks, Fish Hooks? You name it!
Nothing Fishy Here, Just Everyday Great Prices!

There. That would hopefully take care of some of it.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Red, Grape Judas, Tartar Sauce

Turtle & Canary is open!

Daisy rather liked the period of time when they did auditions for the radio. It gave her a nice change of pace and voice for when she had to do the transcripts for the records. That wasn't to say, of course, that she minded the usuals, but the auditions over the weekend were exceptionally amusing and made for a nice way to spend a slow Monday morning at the station.

Of course, there was an often encountered problem of trying not to just laugh out loud at some of the comments, an urge that Daisy was doing fairly well at curbing, although the occasional snorts and the held back giggles were earning her a few looks from Ralph.

Or at least she assumed they were looks. Hard to tell with those helmets.

It was Labor Day which meant there were cd's of Union March and Protest songs, and little miniature shoes like those that workers had thrown into the machines.

Except there wasn't. Because someone at the shipping office had thought they meant a different kind of labor.

So instead there were baby supplies. Oz was amused. You could tell he was amused by the almost complete lack of expression on his face.

He had found a cd of the original cast recording of a musical about exploitation of workers in a dystopian post-apocalyptic city though.

Welcome to the Holiday Grove.

It wasn't exactly disappointing to be back in Fandom, but Mirax thought her weekend had been too short. She could have easily dealt with at least another few days back home.

And don't think she didn't feel a little cheated to find out it was a national holiday here after she got to work, and she could have used that as an excuse to at least get another day out of it.

[So a mod your shopping day.]

It was, Jonothon had decided, in bad form to hang around inside one's dorm room all of the time, stinking it up with emo and psionic flame. And that was why, for a change of pace, Jono had made his way out to the park, which he would subsequently stink up with much the same.

The big difference was, instead of Jak, there were ducks. Angry, angry ducks, who were sparing no breath letting Jono know in their own ducklike way just how displeased they were at the fact that he'd had the gall to show up without some bread crumbs or popcorn to feed them with.

//Sorry, mates,// Jono muttered, //if I don't get any, then yer get none from me.//

The ducks were Not Best Pleased.

[The park is open for any who care to stroll through and patronize the ducks, the emo, the flamingos, and such. The ducks get special homage today because I was woken up at six this morning by the ANGRIEST DUCKS IN THE WORLD.]

Vince Noir was working today. If you could call making a scrapbook of all his favorite glam rock artists 'working'.

Hey, he took care of the animals too, don't worry. He was a loving provider for them. He just had a really terrible work ethic, otherwise.

[ooc: Post is late, therefore the OCD has fallen down a well.]

Well apparently it was some sort of holiday today which meant Bones had an excuse to drink. He didn't normally need an excuse to drink but it was always nice to say you were celebrating something.

Annnnd since there was no one in here but Tino it looked like he was serving himself. He didn't trust Tino. He looked like the type of guy who didn't was his hands. It was gross.
