Katchoo was fiddling with the clay again today -- no real reason, really, other than it was malleable, and she was sleepy, and something about the texture was ridiculously intriguing. It was all . . . smooth. And kind of slippery.

Neat.

[OOC: Dude, I have like no inspiration today and I'm like mostly asleep at the moment but it's open anyhow.]

Jack got to the shop in good spirits, and saw a box had been delivered. Inventory. So, being the studious employee he was, he opened it up to start preparing the merchandise for display.

It was a box of trucker hats.

If Irulan wanted the hats, she'd find them--undamaged and still in the box--in the storeroom. For now, she'd find the Help Wanted sign up and Jack trying to be a cheerful hat shop clerk.

The Imperial Brim is hiring.
Monday or Saturday shifts available.

Between Jen and Zack yesterday, Ino’s mood had whip-lashed around enough to be settled on ‘quiet’ for the day.

Quiet for her, mind. Really, that required clarification.

As such, she was curled up in Cable-san’s chair, absently stretching muscles that were achy from Centurion’s training regime for her, and reading one of her scrolls from home.

Sophie was in the middle of changing out displays; the digital art was being taken down, to be sold at auction or sent to previous buyers, and a display of neo-surrealism, including work by George Grie and Maria Jahn, was going up.

The gallery was still open, though, with cider, coffee and tea on the sideboard.

And a newspaper article on her desk, with definite dates and places marked. Right next to the article about the re-authentication of the Hope Diamond-- which had disappeared for 48 hours over the weekend, only to re-appear with no warning by Sunday night.

Yeah, that one had Sophie laughing.

[open and OCD freeee!]

Mat, wearing his usual--tight dark breeches, knee-high boots, white shirt, black silk scarf, silk coat (today's was red, with gold embroidery tracking up the sleeves)--twisted his hat idly between his fingers as he lounged by the door of Fast Eddie's and waited for Effy to show up.

Learning a new game (especially one taught by a pretty girl) was just the sort of thing that was going to improve Mat's mood after a fairly irritating weekend.

[OOC: Mat is expecting his date, but open for your bowling or pool playing or greasy pizza-eating needs!]

Dinah was trying to cheer herself up from various things by putting chrysanthemums in her hair. Then decided to take that to flower crowns, maybe some wreaths. It kept her busy and from anything resembling brooding. That was so not her.

One of the nice things about working at Things Reborn is the little treasures you can find if you know where to look. Which is why Layla was able to dig up a rather old laptop that had seen better days but was still rather functional.

With her duties out of the way, Layla was now surfing news websites from a "borrowed" wireless connection and downloading images that involved H.A.M.M.E.R, the Avengers and the X-Men.

It was for a good cause, so Layla was pretty sure Ben wouldn't mind too much.

[Open!]

Mina had awoken that morning to a strange phone call from the bureaucrats behind the League. They even put Allan on the line, to prove their statements. And with Allan's endorsement, she had agreed to return as a member of the league, on the condition she be allowed to stay in Fandom for the majority of her time.

After the government types realized she would not be swayed from such an idea, they came to a compromise. She'd be allowed to stay if she continued her intelligence gathering. To expedite such things, they'd just made arrangements for her to manage the apartment building she lived in. Mina could hardly object to being given such an executive responsibility. She begrudgingly thanked them, and went about to start familiarizing herself with the office on the lobby floor. She had a lot of paperwork to go through. Oh, and she'd have to move her things from her apartment to the much more lavish apartment intended for the manager. That would be a priority as well.

So, anyone happening to enter the apartment building today would probably notice that there was stacks of paper over on the counter, and a blonde woman cursing every so often as she tried to understand what all of these files were for.

[ooc: Open post, of course. Details of Mina's phone conversation NFB, pretty please]

A new employee would be starting the next day at the shop. Aphrodite was excited about this fact, and had put in some new equipment just for him. On the far end of the counter was a small high definition television hooked up to a dvd player. After all, it seemed her new employee's specialty was porn; he should have the best equipment for . . . his research.

But it wasn't exactly pornography playing in the store at the moment. After her first counseling appointment (at least the guy hadn't asked her to marry him today), Aphrodite had put in her favorite movie and collared Hercules to watch it with her.

He didn't seem very interested, but she was having fun, and like any true fan she was occasionally saying the lines at the same time as the characters did.

At one point she sat up straight, a serious expression on her face. "'Pudge controls the weather.'" Then she dissolved into laughter, hugging Herc and reaching for the popcorn.

Decadent Delights is open.

(ooc: A free virtual vibe to anyone who can name the movie from the one line. Contest void if you're [livejournal.com profile] thismaskiwear. Post open, forecast fair, with a hint of SP early.)

Liir was at the Cafe Fina and doing his best to pretend that everything was just fine and nothing was bothering him. Of course, anyone who knew him would know that to be a lie since he was actually outside of the kitchen, letting the cookware do the work, and attempting a letter.

Gwynn was happy to be at The Gig -- and that Phillip was gone. She still didn't know how she had missed intercepting his invitation to the weekend, but she had and it had been... stressful would be a good way to describe it.

Currently she was sitting with the young colt beneath the tree and hoping that she could speak to Tim about Phillip's behavior without totally killing their friendship.

The Gig is open.

Alex was in a pretty good mood today. She saw Olivia this weekend. She saw New York a few weeks ago. If she couldn't have her old life back, at least she could catch glimpses of it, here and there.

Speaking of that trip to New York, Gibbs wasn't answering his phone today. Weird. Another anniversary with another psycho ex? Maybe she'd drop by after work, see what was up.

In the meantime, Cabot and Associates was open.

Atlas Gym - Wednesday

It was Beka's first day working at the gym, so she made certain to arrive plenty of time before it actually opened. Time that was needed as much of the machines were unfamiliar to her, much to the NPC instructor's annoyance. His mood lessened even more when he received a blank stare for asking about the aerobics classes. Beka's question was answered with a stack of boxes with shiny discs in them and she was forced to join in the morning session to get the hang of it.

Aerobics, she decided, were looby.

[Hold for the OCD. The OCD is held.]

"Arm wrestling?" She-Ra was concerned for Tino's well-being tonight. "I don't believe such a contest would be fair, my friend. But if you really think you could best me...I will try not to break your arm."

While the pain in his arm did shut him up, it didn't explain why Tino had gum in his hair.
