Lily had absolutely nothing of interest going on today.

She did somehow still have leftover Halloween candy, however, so that might take up way too much of her day. That was really one of the parts she missed most about teaching little kids. They always showed up with it in class, which meant it had to be confiscated for their own good and the good of their teeth, and then she got to the good stuff first before bringing the rest back home. Not that she was ever telling him that part.

Now that the decision to throw a grand holiday party had settled in, Aphrodite had made lists as to what needed doing. And phone calls. Lots of phone calls. Including the one she was currently just ending.

"Right. Well, have a nice day. Goodbye." She hung up with a disappointed look on her face.

Hercules jumped up on the counter in front of her and licked his paw. 'Dite absentmindedly reached over to sniff him. "Can you believe that, Herc? He'd rather complete a job for the King of Norway than come to Fandom and carve an ice sculpture of me for the party. Why is that, huh?" She huffed, then sniffed, her nose catching a strange odor. "And -- why do you smell like -- beer?" Then she rolled her eyes. "Oh, Jack."

Arya brewed some tea as she checked the store and the available stock. Settling behind the counter with her tea, Arya filled out some order forms for new items. Getting new inventory was always fun.

"Everybody seemed to be into writing advice for people on the bathroom walls this week," Francine said with the most innocent look you could possibly see -- and a gold earring with a star dangling from it in each ear.

"And the warning signs went over well too, so we thought it might be a good idea to keep going on that theme and come up with a brochure to hand out to new students when they arrive, telling them the things they really need to know! We know the administration wants to keep us safe, but sometimes they miss out on the small stuff - and sometimes the small stuff isn't really small at all."

"Bananas."

"Uh-huh."

"Seriously."

"Uh-huh."

"Oh, come on," Ray groused, throwing a pencil at Ralph, "We already done bananas! I just got through my stash of fucking bagels, what now?"

Ralph shrugged, and held up a kumquat.

Ray banged his head against the desk. "Greaaat."

Jan had reached the stage of her life where she could be - momentarily - distracted by a dog. Or toys, if the dog was sick of being menaced. That meant Cable actually had time on his hands today to go through some paperwork, and put in some phone-time with Irene about the Rumeki.

"I don't know about these new infrastructure plans."

"They look sound."

"There's just something about them," she sighed. "I don't know, Nate. It just doesn't smell right."

He sandwiched the phone between his ear and his shoulder. "Fax me the full plans."

"Thanks, Nate."

"I still don't think there's a reason for concern."

He hung up, and glanced at Jan. She'd fashioned a skirt out of a banana peel. He rubbed his forehead.

Damon didn't really have a system when it came to picking a new town to live in. You'd think after over 150 years he'd have something--a map he threw darts at, an intricate code involving whatever was playing on the radio, settling in a town that was an anagram of the town Stefan was in--but he had nothing. He just drove around until something caught his eye and then went from there. It was one of the few things he didn't plan out. He had been intending to make his way down the coastline when he saw the causeway to Fandom and decided to check it out.

Now he was strolling casually down the street, nodding his head to a song that earwormed him in the car. So far the town didn't seem like anything special. There was an interesting shop here and there and the giant castle looming over the town was kind of cool, but he wasn't blown away. Still, he wasn't about to leave after a lousy ten minutes. It's not like he had anywhere to be, anyway.

[Open, naturally. btw, Damon's info post so y'all know what he's like and what powers he has (walking around in the day, for example, does not mean he dazzles omg)]

After getting back her normal form, Kate had promised herself she’d devote the weekend to human pleasures.

Said ’human pleasures’ included – among other things – walking into town by herself, listening to music on her iPod and smoking as she walked.

She had a destination and a goal, of course. She was in pursuit of one of the most divine pleasures Fandom could offer her at the moment: the Perk’s best hot chocolate with a generous helping of whipped cream.

Hot chocolate acquired, there was a very pleased and human-looking Kate sitting at her usual table. Had she still been able to purr, she would have.

Chuck was doing actual managerial work as he sat behind the bar today. Yes, he did that. Seemed like he was doing it more than usual with everybody wanting to switch shifts. Why he was doing it out here instead of his office was anybody's guess.

Oh, right. The booze was out here. That's right.
