Maron was pretty sure that it was going to be a slow, slow day but that didn't really stop her from wandering into work. After all, she rationalized, it wasn't totally her holiday and some people might not think of it and come out to show anyway.

And maybe it just gave her something to do before the dinner, really.

Castiel had at least learned enough about people to realize that he probably wasn't going to get much of a congregation, today.

And he was right -- the "bad boy" in the leather jacket was missing, at the very least. The old lady in the front row was there as usual, though. Castiel occasionally wondered if she ever went anywhere else.

"I am told that today is the day that Americans set aside to acknowledge and appreciate the good things that they have in their lives. I'm also told that Canadians do this in October, and as such, there's some friction between the two cultures as to which day is the true Thanksgiving.

"The fact is, every day should be Thanksgiving. One should always take time to appreciate and thank the Lord and the other forces in one's life for the good things you've received. Even if someone doesn't do something to get your thanks, it's always appreciated, and the lack of it can breed animosity.

"The ritual feasting probably shouldn't happen every day, though."

[ooc: It's Thanksgiving! The OCD is fasting in preparation for stuffing itself stupid.]

Was there a holiday today? Algren hadn't noticed.

Or, rather, he knew full well what day it was, and he was pointedly ignoring it. It had only just become an annual tradition back in his own time (thank you, Abe), and it was no tradition of his, and so he was going to get on with the 'humbug' early and just hold on to that notion clear on through Christmas if he could get away with it.

To hell with turkey. There was inventory to be done.

Wellspring Arms was open, in spite of all the giving of thanks and such that was going about, and Algren was busy being crotchety and just generally insufferable.

Chuck wasn't much in the mood to be around everyone else during the holiday so he was more than happy to work today. Tino hadn't had any plans either (did he have a family?) so he and Chuck had decided to get hammered with a good ol' game of Quarters.

[Putting this up now just in case I pass out or something later. I'm going to have dinner with the redneck side of my family soon but I should be back around 8ish. Bets on how many times my dad quotes Larry the Cable Guy? I'm around!]
