Taking advantage of things is something Loki did really fucking well. Today, he was taking advantage of the warmer weather to be outside, sprawled in a lounger and drinking something fruity but, sadly, non alcoholic. If he thought about it real hard, he could remember the taste of tequila but that wasn't nearly as good.

No, this wasn't making him emo, it was pissing him off. One fucking slip up and God bans all the fucking angels from drinking. You'd think he'd be over it by now but noooo. Fucking deity with a grudge. Loki looked up at the sky and snarled before going back to his fruity drink and lazy day.

MCA Lobby [5/25]

Today in the MCA lobby there was Mina behind her desk, ineffectually getting huffy at her laptop screen.

There were people wrong on the internet. They were wrong and she had to tell them why.

Stupid bloody vampire fangirls. Dracula was not misunderstood. He was a bloody monster, and that was that.

Feel free to interrupt her trolling non-working.

Raven was still tired after being squirrel-napped last night, so she was quite content to spend the afternoon napping quietly meditating, though she was aware enough to know if someone came into the store.

Didi had to open the store because Apu was out of town (something about his octuplets -- she lost track, and Apu just looked harried when she asked about them). As she approached the store, she was surprised to see a tall man clad in a kind of toga made from a stained beach towel prying at the door. He cursed at the lock under his breath, but worked away at it with certain fingers.

She watched him until he got the lock open, then spoke up from the shadows. "You could've just waited for me to unlock the store, y'know."

Henry turned to look at her with wide eyes verging on panic. He'd spent the last day in 1983, had gotten into a fight, and was generally not at his best. He didn't want to deal with the police today. He licked his lips and said, "I like a challenge."

"I can see that," Didi nodded slowly, not seeming especially bothered by all of this, and went past him to open the shop door. "Come on in, claim some clothes..." She paused midsentence, recognizing the man. "Oh. You're Jono's boss at the library."

Henry could have really dealt without knowing this girl knew who he was, but he was game. "Ah, yes. Yes I am. May we continue this conversation after I'm dressed?"

The human insistence on modesty was still a little weird, but Didi shrugged her assent and watched the librarian stride purposefully, if bare-footed, into the racks of shirts. She wondered why the naked people always showed up during her shift.

It was Ariel's first day at work! At a job! A human job!

This was intense.

Of course, she didn't want to screw it up by completely ignoring what her job entailed so that she could go ooh and aah at all the pretty human clothing. She did, admittedly, do a little bit of that when she opened, but she could easily argue (or would argue, if she could talk) that she was just doing the rounds to make sure everything was in order before she opened.

Thankfully, though, the temptation of the clothes wouldn't be too bad, thanks to the distraction of fashion magazines. She could maintain her spot at the counter and flip through those, and there was absolutely no shortage of interesting things within! It was a fascinating study of humans that just wasn't available to her back home. And so pretty! And she was surely getting quite a few ideas on what some of these things that were so new to her were all about...

...pity no one really told her that fashion ads, as a rule, made no sense and rarely conveyed anything even close to real life.

"Yeah. Gibbs."

Yep. Gibbs was manning the phones today.

"A towel, huh?"

At least nothing majorly weird was happening today.

"Naked. Right."

Just the usual strange stuff.

"Sounds to me like one of the kids from the school is having another naked mutiny. I'd complain to one of their administrators. Have a nice day."

Unfortunately for Ralph this meant he's pretty much stuck in the office today.

"No, you're not going on patrol to look for naked men!"

No matter what Ralph might want to do today.

Mary should have known better than to deal with a Portalocity representative over the phone when she wasn't feeling so great. Even Gunther had been smart enough to deliver chocolate and then get out of her way. But it did give Mary a slight advantage because by the time she was done, she'd managed to land a deal for Portalocity to provide free advertising for her hotel.

Tired tired tired.

Hinata suspected it was, really, the challenge of keeping Yei out of everyone else’s things while they were staying in the cabins that had left her so very drowsy as she, with Yei in tow, wandered in to work at her usual time.

She gave Yei reproving glance, which was entirely ignored, and then contented herself with brewing a pot of tea and checking to see what books were new since last Tuesday.

Book Haven is Open.

It was definitely a crank the music up and sing along sort of day. Ino had her hair up, and was sweeping the floor while she sang (and if she used the broom as a dance partner, well, what of it?) before moving on to other cleaning she figured wouldn’t hurt the store even if it didn’t rightly need it.

Besides, feather dusters made for good imaginary microphones.

... shush.

Lion-o was disturbed. The Fina staff was using their down time to polish silverware. Lion-o had to admit that it was a perfectly normal task, but the sight of a large walking, talking fork polishing a bunch of normal-sized forks was just more than he could handle.

Luckily, pie made everything better.

Sookie came into work semi-ravenous today. But it seemed like a bad idea to actually eat on the job. Plus, when she politely asked the guys in the back to whip her up something little, they ignored her.

This was how Sookie ended up eating all kinds of small and pre-cooked things, from jelly packets to saltines.

She'd cook something real later.

Fiona was working, of course.

She'd come into the office, done her neatening up, checked the shelves to make sure that all of the law reference texts were where they were supposed to be, and watered the plant. Then she'd gotten down to the usual.

But she was also thinking.

They were in the cabins now. The cabins meant fires. The fires meant, well, that maybe Operation: Talk To People Again might become exponentially easier. At least, she hoped. It might not. She'd have to see.

Tonight. Definitely. She'd definitely go to a fire tonight instead of hiding with one of her books.

When Robin came into work on Tuesday, she was actually full of questions for Tino, for once.

"Did you watch the finale on Sunday? Did you understand it?" she asked immediately. Tino just looked perplexed. Robin scowled at him, and decided, "Whatever, I'm probably supposed to still feel confused. Especially if you're still clueless."

Like Tino had even answered the question.

... Maybe Jono could move in to the Groovy Tunes. Yes, he sincerely doubted that he could. In fact, he wasn't entirely certain that it would be the most brilliant of ideas even if he was allowed. Even if he could set up a cot over there, and he'd save a fortune on music purchases.

Theoretically. Odds were he'd still spend a ridiculous amount of money on titles that interested him, just so that he could call them his.

He supposed he was going to just have to appreciate his shifts here for what they were. Especially when he was the only boy in an entire cabin this term.

Tuesdays weren't Rose's favourite days right now. Sure, she was still thrilled to be human again, but between not getting much sleep on Monday nights and then training and working all day, visitors to the gym weren't going to find her in the best mood.

Something that Jessi had already discovered while playing her Miley Cyrus albums just a little too loudly for Rose's state of mind.

Oz was a little late getting to work that day due to an uncanny string of annoying coincidences. The kind that always seem to crop up and make you late for work.

Out of guilt he put extra effort into making sure the stock was all nice and presentable.
