Cally didn't think it was too presumptuous to take down the help wanted sign in the window. She had every intention of giving Mina every penny's worth of this trial, and of her work beyond as well.

Nicky was kept in a travel crib that she'd placed behind the lobby desk, where Cally was now seated and making sure to spend equal time watching for tenants that needed assistance and making sure her child was taken care of.

She'd be happy to help anyone, because the more she helped the more likely she was to keep this job.

Ino was almost sad she’d missed Reserves yesterday, considering what radio said, and she was idly trying to figure out what an attack duck would look like as she tidied the store.

Really now, attack ducks?

... Okay, so that probably wasn’t weirder than attack frogs, which she had seen before but the mental image was still enough to entertain her during her shift. It made studying more interesting at the very least.

Samurai ducks. Ino snickered and shook her head.

It was almost... easy, to fall back into old, nearly human habits. Once upon a time she would have sat in right this spot with this cup of coffee, affably pondering something about her students.

Now, Kerrigan had greater - universal - concerns, but she had to admit that ordering coffee at the Perk would be a good way to keep up her ruse of good behaviour. She hadn't yet progressed to giving the Trooper Station a visit - if simply to determine what level of fool had taken Roy's position - but that would come with time.

And, she reflected as she sat down at the table, it seemed the Perk staff hadn't forgotten her usual order, either.

Luke's Diner, Wednesday

Lion-o wasn't sure what the cook had been trying to do, but when he arrived at the diner, he found everything covered with a fine layer of white dust. After a little bit of investigation, he realized that the dust was really powdered sugar. "Yeah, you had to take down your barricade at the kitchen door just in time to have a sugar explosion," Lion-o whined to the cook, who simply shrugged and went back to work.

If one positive thing came out of the mess, it was that Lion-o and the bus boy finally learned how to work together without arguing. It was the only way they could get the mess cleaned up in time for lunchtime customers.

Hannibal was doing some light reading behind the bar tonight. Tino had tried to ignore him but curiosity eventually got the best of him and he tried to peek at the book's cover. Hannibal was happy to show him and even tipped the book Tino's way.

When he caught Tino scowling, Hannibal looked up and said, "What, it's not about you."

It was totally about Tino. Mostly in the way that Hannibal wanted Tino to get pissed. His hobbies were vast and silly.

Every time Dru thought she'd gone through all the books on the shelves, she found another one full of interesting information. Of course how much of it was going to be useful to her in the future was debatable, but Dru was still reading avidly.

The Magic Box was open.

It was a slow, boring day for K-Mart. Which would probably be why she was playing a rousing game of "rearrange the store for no good reason". Sean would probably flip when he found out, but oh well. That was a worry for tomorrow... and for Lindsay to deal with.

Crap.

Oh, well, she'd just leave Lindsay a handwavy note so she knew what she was coming in to.

And the Now Hiring! sign was in the window for another day.

Rosalind had been seen little and had spoken even less since Sunday. In fact, had it not been for her classes today, she would have been quite—capable—of maintaining her shadow status of hovering on the fringes and indulging in solitude.

It was one thing to be well aware of the casualty rate of your job. It was another thing entirely to learn a version of you was just another death added to that number.

She walked along the beach, lost in thought. There were only two people on the island who might have been able to tell from her expression that something was bothering her, so she felt that it was… alright, to indulge herself like this.

Just walking, under the darkening sky and watching the waves as the wind tugged at her suit and toyed with her hair.

[Open, of course, though she's broody.]

Since she'd gotten sprung from the clinic earlier, Rose had been concentrating on trying to push away the ghosts she could feel were present. It seemed to work - or at least she wasn't getting headaches or seeing them so she was counting it as a win - though the effort to concentrate was a little bit tiring.

That wasn't going to be a problem though. If this was what had to be done now, she'd just deal with it.

Dimitri had insisted on meeting back up in the evening - to check on her and make sure she wasn't crazier than usual, Rose assumed. But it wasn't like she'd turn it down, and she insisted in turn that what she really needed was ice cream. Because she hadn't gotten a lollipop at the Clinic of course.

Chilly Boulder it was then, and Rose stood studying the menu carefully. This was a big decision after all.

[OOC: Rose is there for the Russian giant, but open for all your ice cream needs!]

Beka'd stopped by T&C to buy some fresh fruit as class had given her a craving for it. She settled behind the desk, using her belt knife to cut up the orange when Pounce jumped on her lap, settling down.

"Where did you come from?" she asked the cat, unable to reach down and pet him as her fingers were sticky now.

Those cabins are much too noisy to get some decent sleep, Pounce complained. Do you have something for me to eat?

"No, I'd not known you'd be here," she reminded the cat. He sniffed and curled up, his nose hidden under his tail.

When Beka'd finished eating, Pounce was purring happily. "I need to get up and work," she told him, poking his shoulder. The cat purred louder and refused to move. Beka frowned at him. "That'll not work," she objected.

Strange how she wasn't getting up.

[OCD couldn't make it.]
