A night of music, dancing, and the return of friends was enough to put Firekeeper in an exceedingly good mood as she headed to work today.

As usual, she could be found sprawled outside with Blind Seer while the horses got their daily exercise.

As far as Marcus was concerned yesterday never happened. There had been no telling Kyle things he'd rather have his tongue ripped out than admit.

Never. Happened.

The ringing sound of metal on metal indicated that Marcus was pretty pissed off about the thing that didn't happen, and innocent items in the junkyard were paying the price.

[Up way late because slept in, whoops. Open, but Marcus is Not In A Good Mood.]

Fred was loading up his truck with everything he owned. He was just about finished when he took one last look at the island. And then he spit at it. He had a better place to get to. He was part of a brotherhood now. A brotherhood that wanted him, just the way he was.

Soon, he'd drive off. But he had a little bit of loading still to do.

[ooc: Fred's last post. In case anyone wants to poke him before he's gone, is very open. Also, Fred's views on the island absolutely do not reflect any OOC views.]

Anyone in the general area of the shop could have heard the music coming from 'Dite's Decadent Delights. In fact it could probably be heard from across the street. Or down the street. Or on the other end of the island, if you were listening closely and the wind was blowing the right way.

This was definitely not the kind of music normally heard on Sunday mornings, as a rough voice crooned about being Cruel. To 'Dite, however, it was very appropriate as she rearranged the store to her satisfaction.

Gone were the cards. Gone were the simple games that encouraged couples to be romantic. The beautiful robe and nightgown sets? Gone. The book section was left with only the most obvious sexual magazines, the kind that needed to be sent in brown paper wrappers through the mail.

Televisions lined the wall near the ceiling, each playing a different porno film. Instead of lingerie upstairs there were naughty costumes that flirted with covering the pertinent parts of the wearer.

Of course two of these had been set aside for the two employees of the store who had yet to discover the changes.

'Dite was, of course, hard at work herself, and her voice echoed from the back room as she gave directions.

"No, I want the whipping post in the corner and the cross in the center close to the wall. Leave room for the chains."

She came forward, Hercules curled in her arms and purring, though if a cat could have a perplexed look on its face, he certainly did.

"Maybe I should get you a leather suit to match mine, huh, Herc?" One cat eyebrow rose. "Or at least a leather collar." 'Dite placed the cat on the counter that was now solid wood. She adjusted her bustier and stretched. "What do you think, Herc? If I can't be the goddess of love, I'll be the Mistress of Sex. That works, right?"

Herc did the smart thing and stayed quiet.

(OOC: Post is open, links are NSW. Right now, Decadent Delights isn't safe for . . . anyone, really. Neither is Dite.)

There was a sign up on the door of Wellspring Arms today:

IT'S FATHER'S DAY!
CELEBRATE BY
NOT BUYING ANYTHING IN THIS STORE FOR HIM.
FREAKS.

Biff was quite proud of it.

Wellspring Arms was open.

Okay, so there were probably better things that Reno could do with his mornings than head out to get coffee from the Perk. He had a final to prepare, a lesson plan for next term to write up, a girlfriend to entertain, and all.

So maybe this particular outing was an attempt to replace some of his current vices with some new, slightly more responsible ones. There was nothing the matter with coffee, right?

Or maybe it was just an excuse to get out and stretch his legs for a bit. Because exercise was good for him, too, and hanging out in one of the town's more reputable businesses was probably good for the psyche after a year spent in Edge.

Or maybe he was just trying to lose the duck who had tailed him out the door of his apartment, who was now standing outside the entrance to the perk, flapping its wings and quacking after Reno, loudly.

Reno didn't hear it. Honest. He was just here to drink coffee. Delicious, dark roast, black, bitter, coffee. Duck? What duck? He knew of no duck.

Momoko had looked for her in the crowd that was at the dance, but she'd only been able to glimpse her big sib once or twice, and never managed to actually catch Rikku for a chat. So, a handwavy phone message to Rikku had a bouncy Momoko eagerly awaiting her favourite former Fandomite at their usual meeting place.

Hopefully Rikku would get the message before leaving for home again.

The empty cups at Momoko's elbow may have given away the fact that she'd gotten there a bit early. What? She missed Rikku!

[expecting one, but the Chilly Boulder is, of course, open]

There was nothing special happening at the bar tonight. Tino was acting...well Clark didn't know if it was normal, but it wasn't anything that made Tino particularly noticeable or annoying. He wasn't even glaring at Clark or refusing to stand near him behind the bar.

Clearly they were going to be besties by summer's end.

Now Showing:
Mortal Difficulty

Dinah grinned as the ticket taker took Jaime's ticket. "You realize this movie is older than either of us, right?"

[for [livejournal.com profile] weldedtomyspine, but hey, you can catch the movie too]
