If anyone was looking for Momoko today, good luck. No she wasn't off looking for a dress for the dance tomorrow, or even a date. No.

She'd managed to wrangle herself into the good graces of the staff and was currently in a far room of the El Burrito Loco, crowded around the tv watching World Cup highlights and arguing with the staff about calls and Japan's chances of making it out of their group, let alone to win.

She was tolerating the ribbing from her new friends mostly because of the totally awesome shrimp quesadillas and drinks they kept bringing back. And of course the large screen HD TV they'd been watching all day.

But if García made one more wisecrack about Japan's record in the last few Cups? he was so totally going to get smacked.

And lo, the sun did rise over Fandom. Bright and shiny. Warm and gleaming.

"...ow, ow, ow, ow...."

Awakening those who had slept outdoors. On top of fresh graves. After many, many, drinks.

"Augh. Stupid vodka tonics."

[for [livejournal.com profile] notmyownage, although you're welcome to discover two very hungover girls in a graveyard.]

As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

Fred Dukes had that meeting this past Wednesday. It was a woman, a woman who revealed herself to be some kinda scaly blue shape-shifter thing. She told him he was meant for better, that he was beyond all the stupid humans that wanted to guilt him. He had a place in a brotherhood, a Brotherhood of Mutants. And he was welcome to join her, and all that stood with her under another man.

Fred liked that idea. Of belonging somewhere. Somewhere he didn't need to feel guilty about who he was. So he was taking one last day of work at Fandom.

Tomorrow, he blew this popsicle stand.

[ooc: Fred's last Atlas post. His last-last post will be tomorrow. OCD free and open]

Dinah was taking a break from dress shopping (and wondering how Karla was, and hoping she was okay) before going back to the hotel to get ready for the dance. Returning to Fandom after six weeks bopping around the multiverse made the place almost seem-- easy to deal with.

Hmm, maybe she'd get out her bike, drive over to Baltimore next.

[expecting one, but open before that, as well as for all your Perkly needs.]
