Think think think!

Ino was pretty sure that came from—something? Anything?—on this world but really couldn’t bring herself to care. At the moment, because she needed something to work on that wasn’t The End Of The World and Serious Business All The Time, she was scribbling like normal in a notebook.

But this time it was putting down everything she knew about chocobos.

She knew depressingly little, but that wasn’t stopping her from seeing what conclusions she could draw from her work, no.

Yes, Alexander knew he was supposed to be working, but he had been putting away a box of old, worn paperback books and, out of curiosity and knowing he might want something to keep him occupied in the slow times, he had set one with an intriguing title aside to return to later.

And now he was absolutely hooked. What a thrilling story! What compelling characters! What romance! Some of book most certainly set a fire to Alexander's cheeks, but he was certainly captivated, as well as entertained.

Things Reborn is open!

Ariel had probably gotten to the ice cream shop way early to meet Jacob (and his shirt) for the ice cream they'd talked about on Saturday, and, boy, was she glad she was. There were so many different choices that, one glance, and she knew it was going to be a tough choice. All of it sounded so good. And, apparently, they let you sample them, too.

...at the rate she was going, there was a good chance that she'd be full of ice cream before Jacob even got here.

Well, okay, maybe not. It appeared as though one of Ariel's legs was not only magical, but also hollow.

Because she didn't have classes on Wednesday, Dru was at the Magic Box early just in case any of the new arrivals in town felt like checking out the store.

Lion-o was busy polishing the glass on the baked good case, since he thought that everything in the case looked too yummy to hide. Just to be sure, however, he was slowly going through and trying a slice of everything in the case.

It had been a long and somewhat difficult summer for Alex Cabot. On the good side: she had successfully defended a young girl accused of murder, and had helped an engaged woman write a pre-nup. On the bad: she'd been married, forced to get the marriage annuled, and worse, her no-longer-spouse had left the island. They might stay in touch, but married to broken up in the same week was a harsh adjustment.

Also on the bad side was that Alex seemed to be running low on employees. Roy still had the Saturday shift, thankfully, but all the other days were unspoken for.

Which meant that directly below the sign reading:

The Law Offices of Cabot and Associates
LEGAL SERVICES • LEGAL AID

there was now a smaller one which added, Now Hiring.

(OCD-free, seeking employees, and open!)

If Shelley realized she was late for work, she didn't show it. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to notice anything about her actions that might identify her as a store employee rather than a casual shopper, given the full basket of clothing she was toting around and the way she picked through the racks, acting like each blouse was something new and wonderful she had just discovered.

"Oh my god, you're not pink, but you are divine," she mused, holding up a purple leopard-print top and turning to find the nearest mirror.

Pixie Dust was opened for business!

So, jock boy wasn't on the island anymore which meant Alex slipped into the bar and into that position without batting an eye. Look, the free booze was enough to make him decide that customer service was the job for him.

Tino just rolled his eyes and let him do his thing. Nothing could be worse than Hannibal, really. Alex poured himself a drink, carefully using his sore but healing shoulder and giving Tino a toast.

"To the changing of the guard!"

Tino just rolled his eyes again.

Helen was here, laughing as Kianah played with the horses (who were terribly patient with the little fennec fox).

Millie was here and putting a HELP WANTED sign in the window. She had openings Wednesday and Friday and on the weekends if anyone wanted them.
