Ino drifted into work, at her usual time, and more than a little smug about her yesterday. She'd taken the lack of power as a sign of her needing to get off the island and accomplish a few things and those few things had gone swimmingly.

Ino wrapped that smugness around her like a fuzzy blanket. She felt better, she did, because she was doing something productive but there were far too many thoughts that she wanted to dwell on.

And really shouldn't.

She curled up in her normal chair and pursed her lips as she worked through yet another notebook. If her fragile up-swing in mood depended on her working, then she was going to work.

Genesis was smiling faintly that morning. It might have been the fact that the heat was back and he was no longer relying on the back-up generators, or it might have been his own amusement at finally, finally having come to a decision about his next production.

He thought it would be quite amusing.

Picking days for casting was simple enough and it was perhaps midmorning when he walked outside to stick up a sign. He'd pay a NPC to stick further posters up around the town later, but this one… this one he would put up himself.

After a moment to make certain that the sign was straight and not crooked (so help him, but that sort of thing was irritating) Genesis nodded and stalked back into the warm theatre.

There were things to be done before Friday.

Fixer-Uppers [Wednesday]

The weather of the last two days had been odd, certainly, but William was rather relieved to find it back to normal standards of winter by the time Wednesday morning rolled around. Working in an electronics shop would be rather difficult without electricity, he surmised.

No, he didn't know about the existence of backup generators. He was from 1879! Their idea of a backup generator was a candle.

In any case, today he had tea, toast, and a book on fingerprinting to occupy his time.

[ooc: and the player totally didn't completely blank that she had to post today and is thus rushing to do so before fleeing for work, really. yeah.]

After the blizzard yesterday, Shelley decided that she and the rest of the island could probably do with some new boots, so she set about setting up a display of the various brands they had available.

"I love me some Sherpa-chic outerwear," she commented, picking up a pair of fur-lined thigh highs and wishing they had them in a brighter color.

Pixie Dust was open!

It was still cold outside, though it wasn't as bad as yesterday. Lion-o was glad to see that the streets were clear enough to travel and that the diner had power. He had a feeling that people would really want hot food today.

The weather had gone back to normal, there wasn't a hangover to have, and it was Kate's first day at her new place of employment. That was all exciting enough for her to be really able to shove all the not-so-okay stuff of the past few days out of her mind. Any conflicted emotions she might've gained yesterday weren't showing when she got to work.

If it had still been snowing, Lindsay still would have shown up today. She was from Michigan. She could handle a little blizzard. That didn't mean she liked them, so she was glad the weather was back to normal.

Today, classic rock filtered through the store. This time it was a greatest hits compilation of The Doors.

Hank was taking today to lecture Bob-chan about Squishies.

"Red is not a flavor! Red? Is a color. COL-OR. There are many flavors that can be red. Cherry, or watermelon, or strawberry, or fruit punch, or cinnamon, or... DON'T NOD OFF WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!"

Not that the robotic Squishy machine even could nod off, or that she was at all responsible for the flavor Red. Hank was in manager mode, and as far as he was concerned, a good manager was cruel to his subordinates. It was an efficiency thing. Give them an inch and they'd take a mile, and then there would be talk of whining to OSHA or forming a union or something else equally bad for profits.

"Do you understand? Do you 'get it' now? Keep this up, and I'm going to have to cut your lunch break!" Which Bob didn't take, and Hank wouldn't have the authority to cut anyway.

With that taken care of, he settled in at the counter and smiled cheerfully.

After the blizzard yesterday, Alex had thought about not even coming into work. He thought about just leaving it to Tino but then night had rolled around and he'd gotten bored so he showed up to Tino's surprise.

Of course, Alex didn't plan on doing much work. He poured himself a glass of vodka and propped himself up behind the bar. Tino wondered if this meant he'd be doing all the work. Tino was probably right.
