While the snow might have been coming down in ridiculous (to Sookie) amounts, it hadn't been that hard for her to get to the church to set up for the memorial. Granted, not everyone had the benefit of an ice-manipulating boyfriend, but she was pretty sure people would come, still, anyway.

The setup was simple, classy. A few candles (the lack of power helped), and Sookie placed a picture of Raven at the front, on a table. She figured that as people filed in, they could say goodbye, or whatever they needed to. And if people wanted to speak to the whole group, they could -- there was space for that, after all. But as for her, Sookie was going to stay in her warm black coat, with her warm black gloves, and feel cold all over in spite of it.

[omg post is totes NFB, radio kids, but memorial is open to all who know about it!]

Brrrrrr! So much for breaking out the seashells again; when Ariel woke up that morning, she was practically a frozen fish! But that didn't concern her too much. It was a little sad that the shells would have to go back into the drawer again, but she just had to take back out the pretty cloaks and long dresses she'd bought for winter, and they were just as much fun, if not more so, because it wasn't like she'd wear faux fur lined cloaks at home!

She was going to be terribly late for work, though, as she started out into the blizzard and got herself a little lost, part from all the snow and partly just be being distracted at how pretty it all was, but, eventually, shaking a little, she got to the shop.

...and found out there was no power. It hadn't really connected with her until she tried to turn on the lights and the cash register. There was a moment, brief and fleeting, where Ariel felt a little bit of desperation, but then she just shrugged and started working, moving alllll of the coats and scarves and sweaters and mittens up closer to the front of the store, and wrapping herself with quite a few of them, too. She was already here, she might as well stick with it, right?

And it would probably be slow enough she could make snowmen outside the shop! And maybe she could burn the really, really ugly clothes for warmth! She was pretty sure Jenny did that to them, anyway, so she'd be helping out! Talk about an exciting winter adventure at Pixie Dust!

Pixie Dust is open!

Today was typically Sookie's day, but in between the blizzard and Sookie leaving her a message about not making it in today, Lacey took it up on herself to make sure the diner was at least open for anyone who might be stuck out in the cold. So it was simple fare on the specials board today: lots of hot soups, stew of both the meat and veggie varieties, hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. Just the sort of stuff that'd warm you right up, and didn't require any special market runs.

Look, Lacey was from snowier parts of Canada, but she wasn't that foolish that she'd go blundering out into this weather more often than absolutely necessary.

[OOC: Sookie's absence modded with permission, and mod your service today, please! This is mostly up for the benefit of Shunsui's class. ;)]

While she wasn't entirely sure why she'd slogged her way out of her home and to the apartment building with her tot in tow. It was her landlord duty to make sure they were fine, though. She jury-rigged some space heaters in the lobby to be powered off a couple of car batteries. She also hooked up an electric kettle for hot cocoa and tea if needed.

She wasn't behind the counter today, but instead in the little jury-rigged space heater circle, playing with her little boy.

Mainly, it was a game of 'stop Nicky from touching the space heaters'.

[ooc: Open post! I needed something lighthearted, omg.]

Mary was pretty cranky at having to walk down seven fights of stairs this morning after she realized that the power was out. She probably could have tried the elevator to see if the emergency generators had kicked in, but she'd been trapped in an elevator once with Danny during a power outage. She never wanted to go through that again.

The lobby was chilly, but it was still much better than being outside. Mary raided the linen closet for all the blankets. After wrapping one around herself, she got to work folding the rest into a neat pile for any guests that wanted them. At least Gunther was in a good mood since the the gas range in the kitchen worked just fine without electricity.

While Robin was of strong Canadian stock and thus not cold at all, today, she knew that wouldn't be the case for everyone. So, in a comfortable hoodie, she went to work and ensured that the generator was on before setting to work looking up recipes for strong, hot cocktails.

Tino, meanwhile, was wearing mittens and earmuffs.

Cloud was, obviously, nuts for being out there, standing in the ridiculously cold beach right next to the ridiculously cold water. He did have the benefit of being at least more cold-resistant than most, though, but that didn't mean he was feeling any better to be there. His presence in the memorial had been so short and inconsequential that you could say he didn't even go mostly due to the mun's brain failing, but he wasn't the kind of person that dealt well with loss. Or dealt with it at all, actually.

So the beach was it. It was cold and he was alone, with all the time of the world to stare blankly at the waves, thoughts equally blank, or just as vague as possible. It was weird how the sadness could, in a way, ease the meditation -standing up, in a frozen beach, and relatively numb already, but somehow devoid of thoughts. He could torture himself with thoughts later.

For now, he was more focused on his breathing and the waves.

[ooc: idek guys, I just felt like posting something that acknowledged he had been around in the memorial. Establishy I guess, unless someone wants to go and try to talk to him. Radio of course should depict him as just brooding.]
