Mmmm, delicious legal research.

Okay, not really, but Roy had stumbled across a few things that might be helpful to him in the future, should he return to a life of costumed concerned citizenry citizenry is still the wrong word, Roy, look it up and they made for fascinating reading. The parts that were in normal people English, anyway.

One good thing about working in a shop that sold almost everything, Jane realized, is that she had quite a selection to consider as far as means of self-defense went. The encounter the other day had her thinking that, really, it was about time she considered such things. Finding a nice stake was surprisingly easy and, as she stood there giving it a few stabs and swishes and wielding it with threatening shakes a try, she felt it wasn't too terribly graceful, and keeping it somewhere convenient was a little unwieldy.

When Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon inquired about her activities, she explained to him as best she could about her realization that, being a young single woman in a foreign country, there were a few considerations to make. He understood completely and even offered to help introduce her to a few other methods of defense for the independent young lady, such as mace.

Which Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon was going to regret the moment Jane accidentally sprayed it right into his face.

"Oh my goodness! Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon! Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon! Are you alright? Oh, dear, does it hurt? Oh, it must hurt, with those awful screams, here, let me get you some water and maybe a towel and, oh, well, at least we know it's effective?"

"Hey! No cannonballs!"

Despite the weather, the duck pond had a lifeguard today. The bite mark, courtesy of one fiendish gremlin, was inflamed and plain to see on Kyle's left leg. White singlet, red shorts and a red hat that said 'GUARD' on it identified him as a lifeguard. It was anyone's guess as to where he got the torpedo lifeguard buoy.

Kyle blew his whistle. He pointed at the one duck that was looking his way. "If you do that again, you're getting a time out."

The duck was probably wondering at this point why it hadn't flown south for the winter like a sensible duck.

There was one really good thing about a smaller town than Hart, and that was that it was way easier to get a seat at a popular place on a Friday night. Jack looked over his menu at George. "Ever been here before?"

The dates were over, and Jaina was back behind the bar, with absolutely no idea what the hell had happened during that last date. But now that she was out of the lounge, she was trying not to facepalm at herself. And was definitely sticking to water for the night.

At any rate, she and Tino were both around to help if anyone needed drinks while mingling with people they may or may not have dated for three minutes.

[This is your regular post-3MD post. All are welcome, even if you weren't at the dates. I am around, but afk after about 6 PST, at which point whee for modding Tino!]

After her final date, Millie made her way outside to meet up with Max. She felt very uncertain about it. The desperate longings she'd felt when they were together had faded as soon as she'd begun her last date and she wasn't entirely sure why. And she was more than a little embarrassed about how strongly she'd expressed her yearning to him. Still, she did like him and she had promised to meet him afterwards, so here she was.

The first crisis of the day was waiting for Mary when she got to the front desk. There were five members of the housekeeping staff arguing and pointing fingers at each other. They all claimed that no one knew how it happened, but the entire inventory of spare bedding had somehow turned pink.

"You mean that we have nothing else in white or ivory for making beds today?" Mary asked with a sigh. "Fine. Use the pink sheets for tonight, and if anyone complains, let me know."

It had been a very trying few weeks, and so Bobby felt it was high time that he dragged a certain winged mutant out of the dorms to just... hang out.

And okay, even though he'd totally never admit it, even to himself, there was some overprotective hovering (although not literally, literal hovering was pretty much Warren's job) in there too.

But right now all that mattered were two things: one, this plate of nachos and cheese had endless refills, and two, he was totally kicking Warren's ass at Fatal Battle.

[ooc: for the winged one, but open for all your bowling/video game/nacho needs.]
