The constant rain was making even Fraser a little more subdued than usual. It was hard to get yourself energized and motivated when you were just going to get soaked if you stepped outside. That didn't stop Fraser was from arriving on time, of course, but he was shaking his coat and hat off and Dief was shaking the rain off of his fur before immediately going to find some place dry to lay down.

Fraser let him go and wandered around the desk to go on about his day. Maybe the rain would stop at some point today. He didn't think so but he could hope.

Millie's shop was a brightly sunlit as the clinic had been earlier this week. Anyone looking for relief from the rain and darkness should stop by!

Neither Helen nor the horses were particularly fond of the weather, so it looked like today was going to be an indoor day.

Jack started his day with a stack of materials on sentencing in child neglect cases across New York state.

There was nothing like a good cup of rage to fuel a workday, was there? He could set his personal feelings aside; he'd been trained in that. But it didn't mean he wasn't swallowing hard to keep from vomiting or kicking a cabinet.

He was going to take a nice long lunch break, he vowed, and go explore Tokyo. He was grateful to have a new city to poke around in.

"Good evening," Jack said, grinning at the assembled group before tugging a chest out from behind the desk. Eric rolled his eyes--Jack had absolutely refused to let him look inside or even know where he'd gotten it. "We're going t' explore the importance of easily portable income tonight."

He knelt down and opened up the lid of the trunk, revealing it to be jammed full of gold coins and jewelry. "Namely, identifying the most valuable gems. Personally, I like emeralds, rubies, and gold--" which was fairly obvious by the chest "--but I've provided a variety of other stones as well fer ye t' get used to."

His eyes glittered at them. "And I know exactly how much I've brought with me, so please avoid the temptation of letting any of this stick t' yer fingers or clothing on yer way out, savvy?"

"Strangely enough, the pirate makes a good point about gems," Eric added. "They are extremely valuable and easy to slip in your pocket if you need to move locations quickly." He strode around the room, passing out handouts. "Pair up and try to identify the gems we put in front of you."

Cally had liked the sandy place better. Could they go back to the sandy place? Warm, sandy Saint Bernards were much easier to clean than cold, wet Saint Bernards.

Still, there was rain and more rain, and Cally might as well let the shop reflect the fact that they had to deal with that. Which was why, after half an hour or so of digging in the back, the new front window display was filled with umbrella decorating kits.

And a cold, wet Saint Bernard.

[The OCD melted!]

Chuck usually wasn't one to question the zombies' choice in music, but really tonight their theme choice was just out of control. Best of Broadway? Really? If there was any good excuse to ignore doctor's orders and pour himself a scotch, this was it.

The shop needed tidying up, or at least that's what Sov thought. So they rearranged things on the shelves and contemplated sweeping the floor. Well, they would do that after they had figured out what this was. It was broken, but never mind.
