It was interesting, the way Ariel planned her workdays, and the fact that they had fallen into place so effectively for the summer that it worked out perfectly. When the island moved, she'd noticed it had usually been on a Monday. That was her Groovy Tunes day, and she usually skipped it for the urge to go out and explore. And then the next day, Tuesday, was her Pixie Dust day, so, after having thoroughly explored, she could make sure she at least went to that job and spend a good deal of her time there picking out all her great outfits for the new location.

Cowboy hats were totally in.

Especially pink ones.

Mary was getting rather fed up with Gunther's attitude, but she thought she had a way to deal with it. She told Gunther that she had a special mission for him. He had to investigate the mining town to see how their accommodations compared to the hotel.

Yes, she fully expected him to spend the entire day at the town's house of ill repute. No, she really didn't care because it would get him out of her way for the whole day.

Ever since Shunsui came in to nap at the store, Apu-san had been being overly obvious in sneaking up toward the counter and hiding under some of the boxes from the stock room. Every so often, he would move forward a little, until Shunsui got so irritated with him that he'd mutter, "Yes, Apu-san, you are just so funny. Get that box out of here before I go to knock all the pickle jars off the shelf in aisle handwavey..."

So then Apu-san would go do something for a while, but then the box would be back, mocking him. Thankfully, this inspired a sign for the window today:

Alice was feeling particularly uncharitable this morning. Her denim jeans had not fit comfortably, forcing her into a flowy skirt that, while pretty, had unfortunate implications.

She was choosing to believe she had gained a few pounds from nerves over the entire situation. It was far too early for clothing to be ill-fitting. She was only ... three? Three months in. She thought, at least. Considering how stretchy time was in Wonderland, and how calendars may not have lined up ... she was mostly sure it was three months.

... Alice should possibly speak with Ghanima about finding some kind of doctor who could provide confirmation on that.

In the meantime, Groovy Tunes was a grouchy place today. Step carefully, if you please.

While Robin's ill-advised highlights had been changed into something honey-colored and flattering, it didn't mean she wasn't still wary of over-exposing them to the sun.

Which was why she still wore her hoodie into work tonight, with the hood up, even though she no longer had to deal with the threat of rain. She was cautious.

Emma seemed smugly satisfied at work this evening; between her weekend in New York and finding out everyone else had seemingly had gone mad for the weekend, it was putting her in a lovely mood.

Besides, this location seemed sunny and entertaining, and the DJ seemed to be rocking the En Vogue. Emma was a fan.
