Roy was so happy to not be a...panda...raccoon...thing, that he was happy to be looking up court cases, even! He'd gotten pretty decent at maneuvering through the system, since he'd started this job, so it was going smoothly today. So smoothly he could have taken a few breaks to play solitaire, but see above re: just happy to have thumbs.

Thumbs were awesome.

Seifer was working, sort of. Mostly he was working on feeding and training his new Gigapet Lizard that he got in Computer 101.

Well that, and staring horrified at the computer, which was currently spilling forth the wonderful autotuned sounds of Miss Black, merrily singing about how it was 'Friday, Friday'. He really needed to stop clicking on links with more exclamation points than actual words.



[I forgot it was Friday until 20 minutes before I had to leave for work this morning. :\ So, no OCD]

Jane came into the store today with her chin up and her pride completely in check. This week, there would be no dates with rodents in plastic bubbles, no unseemly thoughts about perfectly nice but admittedly attractive young women, and certainly no going to bars and doing things in back rooms that were supposed to be much more suited for the marriage bed. Jane was feeling quite herself, thank you, and so she was intending on having a nice day at the store, doing proper work and having proper thoughts.

Assuming no swarthy pirates or disheveled police officers or other gentleman of such intriguing persuasions came into the shop. Because, well, then, Jane figured she just might not be able to help at least a little bit of appreciative thought.

The Gig, Saturday [6/11]

Dani had skipped breakfast and gone straight to work this morning, assuming that she could get something to eat after finishing her chores. But she kept getting things screwed up because she was too hungry to concentrate. She accidentally put Kally into Duke's stall after cleaning it. Then her attempt to braid Smudge's mane ended up in a hopeless tangle. The final straw was when Bold wouldn't let her anywhere near him. He was too smart to put up with Dani's mistakes.

"Fine then. You're just going to have to wait until after I get breakfast. No, make that lunch at this point," said Dani, checking her watch.

The Gig was open, and there were free rides if you brought food for Dani.

The Devil's Nest, Saturday Evening, 6/11

The first thing Bo did when she got in was to scout around. Regular DJ in the booth? Check, and on a ZZ Top kick tonight, which suited her just fine. Clown parade anywhere in sight? No. There was a guy in a dusty Stetson who asked her for a sarsaparilla, but he seemed to be a local who wandered over from the mainland, not a transformed islander. Good. As far as she could tell, this wasn't another of Those Weekends.

Just to make sure, though, the second thing she did was make up a large, clearly-written sign and ask Tiny to hang it on the wall above his head:

All ukuleles must be checked at the door.

The third thing she did was reflect that whatever his species might be, Tiny was a pretty decent kisser.
