If Spock's research today had less to do with anything mechanical and more to do with the possible science behind spontaneous humanoid-to-animal transformation, who could blame him? He found it particularly fascinating that he had transformed into one of the few creatures found on Earth with hemocyanin-based blood, and if you dropped in on him, it was possible he would babble on about this at length before he fixed your iPod or whatever. Consider yourselves warned.

Gunther failed to show up for work this morning, but Mary was not going to complain. She managed to get a lot of stuff done when he wasn't pestering her. When he finally showed up hours late and with lipstick on his collar, Mary suggested that he just take the rest of the day off so she could finish updating the books.

There were some very cute cowboys in the club tonight, all of whom Emma was happy to chat up. It was part of her duty as the hostess, right? And if they had set up a poker game in the lounge, well, it was her job to make sure no one was cheating.

Well, no one but her, anyway. Quite a crowd had gathered as word had spread that a 'little ladyslipper' of a girl was beating some of the chronic card sharks that usually haunted the local saloon.

Poor Tiny was stuck carding and pouring tonight, but he didn't mind too much since Emma had promised him a cut of her winnings for covering for her.

Alice was generally an enormous fan of chaos, both in theory and in practice. Which was why it was so strange that she found herself so pulled towards order today. She vacuumed three times. She pored over the shelves, compulsively checking the alphabetical categorization of the CDs. She dusted, she tidied, and she resisted the urge to decorate.

Alice had decided to attribute this to the fresh mountain air and some kind of belated spring cleaning impulse, and not in any way to the parasitic bump that she was starting to embrace a rather unhealthy level of denial towards.

Customers would be advised that use of the term 'nesting' might be hazardous to their health.

When Sookie arrived at work today, she was immediately smacked in the face with an orange slice. What she'd initially had viewed as the staff being obnoxious turned out to be a rebellion of oranges.

Why, she didn't know. What she did know was that she was going to be spending her shift packing them into crates, while being soaked in orange juice.

Ariel had been feeling like taking it easy today; really, she shouldn't be spending any more money on her clothes. Not for at least another week or so. So she was hanging out at the counter, flipping idly through the fashion magazines for some insight on the upcoming trends and awesome fashions.
