Lacey couldn't rely on the wall planters to grow all the produce for the diner; there were some things she needed to rely on suppliers to get, although she made it a point of pride to source as locally and organically as possible. Case in point, the asparagus, a bunch of which had somehow ended up shoved to the back of the fridge and forgotten about for a while, then discovered this morning by the cook, who'd asked for her opinion on whether it was still good.

Lacey stared into the refrigerator at the bunch of asparagus, shriveled a little bit in its purple rubber band, as it jerkily tap-danced around the crisper drawer in a badly broken rhythm.

"No, no, I think . . . it's safe to say that asparagus has gone a little off." She'd get rid of it later -- somehow -- but wasn't composting supposed to be a less guilt-inducing method of disposing of your organic waste? Honestly.

For better or for worse, Butters was still listening to some tween wave while he was working on some stuff at the counter at Fixer Uppers. He was singing along with the swick bass lines as he liberally applied a great deal of duct tape to a few iron pieces. What he was building looked an awful lot like one of those old toast toaster things. But with a lot more duct tape.

And that got Butters to wonder how flammable duct tape was. For a moment, he considered giving it a try, but then thought better of the idea of playing around with fire at work, and returned to singing and working.

Momoko had had a wonderful weekend and she totally didn't want to spoil her happy mood with reading about that stupid judge. And yet she knew it was important, so she had the computer up and running a search for more news articles about him and the books from Ms Cabot's library spread out on her desk...

Occasionally she'd look at them, but really... it was such a nice day outside and her gaze kept shifting towards the window.

Maybe she could convince Jaime to go on a picnic after work?

...

Maybe she could convince Jaime to make a picnic lunch and meet her somewhere?

...

"I'd never come back to the office," she sighed and turned back to the law book in front of her. "I'd better eat my bento today."

Cabot and Associates is open, if a bit distracted

Ariel liked when the island stuck around for a little bit longer so that she wouldn't be tempted to duck out of her Groovy Tunes duties every week. She did like the music shop, a lot, but new places were always so much more exciting.

At least today, she had the promise of new music. Inspired by her conversation with Alice about having no idea who they were, Ariel went and found a CD by Westlife to pop into the stereo system. She listened carefully, thoughtfully, and decided that she did like them, especially some of the more upbeat songs. It didn't hurt that they were pretty cute, too.

Karla was drawing up some display ideas for their new location, as well as several other summer-themed plans. She had several catalogs open on the counter and a list of inventory to check it against. A neat display every week would surely drum up business, wouldn't it?

Once she was done figuring out the orders for future displays, maybe she'd hunt around and see what she could put together from what was already in the store.

Yeah, so. Jake didn't follow the Canucks all that closely during their regular season, but hey- they were a Canadian-based team and they had a Newfoundlander on staff. That was reason enough, Jake felt, to cheer for in the final.

The pub was open, the hockey game was playing on the TV, and he'd even managed to convince Tino to don a blue and green toque!

Jack skittered into the club and flung himself behind the bar. "I'm here! I'm here! Nobody panic."

Tiny, looking far from panicked, rolled his eyes and went back to his Sudoku puzzle.

The Devil's Nest was open, if frazzled.
