Alice was still firmly convinced she wasn't going to be part of raising the child, for various insane reasons, but on the off-chance she was wrong about that, she had decided to browse through the aisles looking for inspirations on potential names.

It was occurring to her that a music shop was the wrong place entirely for that sort of endeavor. Either the name in question was strikingly normal -- Bill, Emily, Jane -- or remarkably not -- Bono, Tricky, Gaga. Which didn't count the ones that she couldn't determine between band or individual names -- Keane, Clannad, Sting.

Right. She might as well ask the Hatter to name a child. Or throw darts at letters and mix them around.

Sookie was less than thrilled that this was still kind of a thing, all this snow and madness. She'd bundled up for a week, and already her tan was fading and her hair getting more dull.

This was the perfect recipe for some serious Sookie bitchface, no matter how positive she was trying to stay.

There was no cheerful working on displays and new sets of cute clothes for Ariel today. Oh, no. Absolutely none of it, though she certainly wished there were.

No, it was getting to be toward the end of the month and so Ariel had to take up her managerial duties and take to the paperwork, the accounting, and other various managerial responsibilies.

DEAR POSEIDON WHAT HAD SHE GOTTEN HERSELF INTO???

Stuck behind the counter, the only thing from the store that Ariel was wearing today was a very studious expression and a nice scattering of papers all around her.

The NOW HIRING! sign was still in the window, and Pixie Dust is open!

What better way to stay warm than to drink heavily? Robin couldn't think of anything she'd rather be doing. Hearty Canadian blood or not, she was going to be tucked up behind the counter drinking whiskey neat.

Outback Steakhouse, Tuesday evening

Quinn stomped snow off her boots as she made her way to the restaurant's hostess stand for her date with Puck. Good old Outback: Even when your island was in a frozen wasteland in the middle of July, the Blooming Onions tasted about the same as they did in Lima. Quinn was immeasurably grateful for that.

She gave Puck a slight, frazzled smile. It felt like a long time since they'd done a couple thing, and she was eager for the night out. "I think my fingertips are numb inside my mittens," she announced, as they waited to be seated. "How are yours?"
