"What are those on your feet?" Zayne asked Gigi. Gigi explained that they were vintage roller skates and they just seemed appropriate somehow. Zayne wasn't sure what exactly that meant, but he learned long ago that it was best to just let droids have their quirks as long as it wasn't hurting anyone.

He was starting to rethink this stance, though, when Gigi actually tried skating from table to table to clear dishes. Really, he was just lucky that he didn't have room for a drive through.

Jack had gone exploring in Pleasantville today, just a bit, but had quickly left and come back to the island. He could handle many environments and numerous types of weirdness, but perfectly pleasant American '50s suburbia seemed to be a bridge too far.

But in honor of the environment, he settled behind the bar with a Salinger book. It seemed to be that kind of day.
