The sign outside had been changed to something a bit more retro in the wee hours of the morning, leaving Howard only the process of organizing all of his things into something that he could work with.

Which he had been doing. Up until he found an computer electronic box in the back room that just begged to be taken apart to see what exactly it was.

Those poor, poor boxes were abandoned in the front of the store as he carefully set each part aside so he could place it back together in the right order. And he would, of course. He was a goddamn genius, after all.

The island had moved again, new people were here, and Katniss had come back after all. Those were enough to distract Firekeeper somewhat from her melancholy at Tahiri's leaving. It also helped that the horses were anxious for the gossip on the new students, and so she filled them in as best she could.

Yesterday's conversation with Rosella had put Dolf into a bit of a fighting mood. He spent time arguing with Apu about where what products should be put - he thought the Fair Trade goods should have more prominence than they did - and then decided to sweep the floors just to work off some of his excess energy.

It had been months now since Cally disappeared, and she hadn't come back. She wasn't going to come back, he'd wrapped his brain around that one, but now he was angry. He badly wanted to do something, for somebody, but he didn't know who and he didn't know what.

Nana didn't seem as impressed with his sudden industriousness, though. She was too busy leaving hair on the shelves.

The theater seemed a little quieter now, in the absence of two particular people. Which was a stupid way to feel, considering that Jack had never really come in to the theater except the once, and Kate had always had Wednesdays, but that was just the way of it. Then again, Mitchell had dealt with worse losses in his life, and so he was hardly going to let that rule him.

He did, however, put a sign up by the window that said HELP WANTED! in big screaming letters, just in case one of the kids was cinematically inclined. Hell, Kate hadn't been, and she'd done a capable job anyway.

That done, he headed back into the theater to get to work.

Fandom was a big change after spending a summer in Europe. Kind of a boring change. Oh well, one couldn't spend all of their lives sleeping with a different European guy whose name you couldn't really remember every night.

Well, you could, but that wouldn't help Wallace's argument with himself right now.

Screw it, he was just gonna get drunk.
