Normally, Cable would leave the 'taking notes on the new arrivals' part for radio. However, tomorrow was going to be spent at the Deadpool-mandated birthday party for Jan, and so he wouldn't have as much time to pour over radio as he'd like.

Which meant that today was spent at the shop, working out a good Bluetooth solution so he could at least listen in and make some notes while he was busy... birthday-partying. The Open sign was on the door, as was the HELP WANTED one, but honestly, he wasn't paying much attention to whoever walked by the shop windows.

It was a newbie day, and preparations had to be made. As one did.

Mary figured that she would stop by the picnic later, but for now, she was showing some of the maids how to make towel animals. There was already a swan, a manta ray, and a couple of elephants perched on the front desk.

"Are you ready to meet some of the new kids?" Dani asked Duke, pausing to rub his nose affectionately before filling his food bucket. "Would you like to go to the picnic with me later on? It could be fun?"

The Gig was open. Clearly Dani needed people to talk to.

Between waking up at an hour more appropriate for dinner (Bo was still trying to figure out how her alarm got shut off; she suspected gremlin involvement, but couldn't prove it) and cutting out early to open up the bar, Bo hadn't exactly been a social butterfly at the picnic this time.

Oh well; she'd meet the new students sooner or later, and given the current students, she expected to be meeting the new teachers aaaaaaany minute now, probably while mixing them a double of something really strong.

Time for signage, in fact:

Tonight only: doubles for the price of a single, for all Fandom High Staff.

[OCD up, post open! Method-RP? Why nooooo, why d'you ask? *eyes bed I was in until 5:30*]

Zayne felt weird not being at the picnic yesterday. Not that he had any reason to be at it, but it wasn't that long ago that he was constantly going to them to see if any other Jedi showed up. But instead, he had to move out of the restaurant's office and into an actual apartment. And more than anything, that made him feel weirdly grown up. Somehow, everything he went through on his own and with his friends - including running three different businesses now - just didn't cement the idea that he was an actual responsible adult like having an apartment that wasn't just a room on a ship.

Not that any of that had much to do with the clearly displayed "HELP WANTED" sign by the door, except for the thought that teenagers needed jobs for money, which was only tangentially related to Zayne's original thinking anyway.
