When Toby arrived at the restaurant today, it was to find that the droids were in the midst of narrowing down the special for the day. He was a little disappointed that he wouldn't get to make it himself, but had to concede that pizza and cupcakes were fare that were probably pretty well-covered by other businesses in the area.

He did at least manage to convince them to let him choose the kind of dish that would be on special today, thus narrowing down the possibilities until finally one was settled on.

Bod wasn't in the greatest of moods today. He'd said goodbye to Kate yesterday (after lots and lots of clinging) and spent the rest of the night on their little lakeside hideout, reading a book and watching the sky. He'd sent her a few text messages, just to help calm her down and make her own mood a little better. The staff took note of his mood and tried to ply him with ice cream and milkshakes which he appreciated. He was going to be unfocused and sad all day, he suspected.

TODAY'S SPECIALS
Fried Egg and Avocado Sandwich
Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)
Shepherd's Pie

Seifer was the boss now, which was still a bit strange, so he spent most of the morning figuring out just what the boss did around here. He felt like Alice had just gone a bit easy on him when telling him what to do, but it turned out she hadn't. Things were really as simple as she said.

Of course, that meant he had only one 'boss-type' job to do. So, while rock music played loudly throughout the store, Seifer stuck a help wanted sign in the window. Then he went to the back room to start breaking CDs.

There was no big flash of light, no flare, no crackle of thunder. It was very simple: one moment, the land past Fandom's shores was black and white, and the date laid somewhere in the 50s. The next, there was color, and land, and the cosiness of Fandom's old bay.

Whatever the island had gone searching for all summer, she had apparently not found it, but that was all right. Home was good enough, when it came right down to it.

Now, she would rest. And prepare for the new arrivals that would soon touch upon her shores.
