The community center had been decorated both prettily and tastefully for tonight's alumni mixer, even if the music left a little to be desired. After all, sure, it was nice to have some good dancey music in there, but what was a mixer without some Bieber thrown in there? And the more Bieber the better, right? So those attending could look forward to one of those classics thrown in there every now and then. And possibly look forward to getting those classics stuck in their heads, whatever.

Look, at least the food was good, okay?

[Everyone welcome. Come one, come all! Takes place after the debates, so you can go right from one to the other!]

It had been a quiet week for Bod and he really didn't mind those. Quiet weeks meant less of a chance he'd get shunted to some far off place with no way to escape or something equally horrifying. Quiet weeks meant he got a lot of reading done, got a lot of walking done and pined a lot for Kate. Well, he was a teenager.

When he came into work, he smiled and chatted with the cooking staff for a bit, telling them of his plans for the weekend (he had no solid ones) while they chattered happily about their own plans and even tried to sway him into watching some of their favorite television shows so they could talk about that.

Bod begged off and went out front to get the diner set up for opening.

The Magic Box didn't exactly have a huge selection of comestibles, so it was especially easy to notice that half the stock of teas had vanished since last week. Tara fixed herself a cup of decaf peppermint and went online to place a restock order.

At least the stock wasn't locked up anymore. That was something.

She'd heard there was an alumni event, and was considering texting Kennedy to see if she was coming to it. So far, she'd been able to convince herself that would be a Very Bad Idea.

Ben was experiencing a crisis only just shy of Chilly Boulders closing: he had no coffee.

And while yesterday's hangover (what had possessed him and Tony to drink a rainbow worth of shots?) was finally gone, he needed coffee to not be a zombie!Ben.

Well, not literally. But he was still pretty cranky about it.

Stark's was open and uncaffinated. Tread warily.

When Toby arrived and saw what the planned special was for the day, he frowned. "No," he said firmly. "I am exercising my powers of veto here. We're so not doing that." It took a while, but eventually he found one that sounded more exciting. There was even an exclamation mark in the name! Much better.

"Well, this is stupid," Jessica grumbled when she learned of the situation at Caritas shortly after her arrival. "How am I supposed to serve drinks when all the alcohol is gone? Was there some sort of big party or somethin' last night? And why wasn't I invited?"

Caritas was open, but all that was available was soda and TruBlood.

After spending far too much time attempting to catch up on the technology of the fuuuutuuuure day, Howard was going to settle on something that couldn't possibly have changed that much. Movies.

As long as people still watched them in theaters, he was happy. That might be because he hadn't heard about those fancy 3-D movies. Or hardlight holographic projectors. Look, he could only handle so much at a time without the crutch of bad coffee and good alcohol.

This island hated him.

"The title doesn't leave much to the imagination," he said, looking up at the marquee.
