Ender wasn't doing a damned thing about work today: he had other things on his mind.

Specifically, going through readings, both from current Tony and future Tony-- and combing through the books by Reed Richards that Tony had dumped on him. It was a frustrating affair - he might have been brilliant, but he wasn't a physicist, and he'd known since childhood that he lacked an aptitude for theoretical mathematics.

He missed Jane terribly.

He kept on reading anyway.

Emma had needed to get out of the house for a bit. Even with Ronan having handwavily shielded her room - bless his heart - there was still too much tension in the air. Add on to that Karla's moronic stunt, and Emma needed a change of scenery.

Which was why she had decided to head to one of the few places she could count on to get some privacy; Fast Eddie's had wonderfully delicious greasy food, and conning the locals at pool always put her in a better mood.

Right up until Hank called, at least, and then her mood went to ecstatic, because that meant her city was still there.

Yes, Hank, I swear, there was indeed a continent called Australia, and no, I don't think it was one of your experiments that made it go away, unless you did something to a koala that... )

Screw it. Emma was going to order a burger bigger than her head and then go back to playing some pool. Fretting wasn't going to solve anything, but clearing her head would do wonders for her focus.

[[OOC: Open to all and any! Come get your butt kicked at pool by the telepath.]]

The last place Karla wanted to be was at work (or, you know, on the island at all), but unlike people kept insinuating, she knew her duty and she did it. And she'd be damned if she was going to skulk about and hide in her room, regardless. So here she was, chin up and head high, inventorying the stock since it was doubtful they'd be getting any deliveries soon.

There were a few more snow globes left, but she was saving those. In case there were people about who wished to share their uninvited opinions about her actions the other day.

The Nothing approached. Not visibly, not yet. But inexorably, steadily, certainly.

When Cable had checked this morning, there were merely pieces of continents missing - now most of the landmass itself had gone. He had hoped to find something, anything that could put a permanent stop to this, but now...

They were out of time. )

He accessed the telekinesis he hadn't used in a long time and sourced it through his techno-organic limb, pushing it straight through the connection between him and the device, which unfurled like a flower. The energy coursed through its petals and shot outwards, covering much ground before shooting straight up, through the layers of sediment, through the ocean--

And then curving right back to form a dome of shimmering blue energy that cradled Fandom, Ingvar, and the Isle of IKEA.

The Nothing thundered onwards a few hundred miles away. Soon.

Underneath Fandom, Cable's eyes went a perfect white, his feet lifted off the floor-- and then he didn't move again.

Joan was working upstairs again, and had even hung a pretty, handwritten sign on the door:

Special
Mid-afternoon bourbons half-price to anyone who's suddenly missing a loved one.

You see, Joan had called Sterling Cooper to find that it was, in fact, Cooper Draper now, and Roger Sterling had never existed. (Sterling Senior, however, had.) So she was drinking herself, figuring Eric wouldn't mind. And if he did, she'd fix it.

It was what she did.

Jake had made another call home today. Well, scratch that. Jake had tried to make another call home today. It hadn't actually connected.

So, the usual coping method came out to play. Hopefully no one else wanted any rum tonight, as Jake was making short work of it.

The dorm roof had been her smoking place of choice when she'd been a student, and while the temptation to find her way back up there existed, Katchoo didn't feel like dealing with the newer kids (also the trespassing) just for the sake of familiarity.

So the Rocky Bits it was; they were as good a spot as any to brood, and she had a lot to brood about even on days when there wasn't a giant multiversal crisis erasing friends and acquaintances and friends-of-friends from existence.

The brooding, therefore, was extra strong with Katchoo tonight as she exhaled slow streams of smoke into the cold night air and watched as they spiraled up into the sky (St. Louis was better than L.A., but there was still enough light pollution to make Fandom's stars stunning by comparison) and dissipated.

[OOC: Broody, yes, but open.]

The plans were coming close to completion and Myria really should be pleased with this fact. Should be thrilled to be rid of this confusing and horrible form.

But was not.

The madness of it was both thrilling and terrifying at the same moment. Nothing since she had become corporeal made sense and this was no different.

So, for now, she thought these matters over as she stared at her doughnut. That most assuredly contained no nuts.
