The Gig, Sunday

Helplessness was not a feeling Firekeeper was accustomed to. Or very fond of (as if anyone really was). Unfortunately, a lack of reading skills meant there was really nothing she could contribute to any sort of research effort, so she was left at loose ends, frustrated and annoyed.

Hopefully distracting herself with the routine tasks at the stables would help a little. So, she and Blind Seer went to work as usual, perching on a hay bale as they chatted with the horses.

While Troy and Jono were at the Boards on this particular Sunday, and they had, in fact, put out the now-traditional pitchers of water -- this time with a plate of moddable cookies.

The mood was a little... subdued, but the boys were there. More or less.

When Zayne walked into the restaurant today, he looked at the specials, consulted with Gigi, and decided, "That's in poor taste. Too soon."

Today's Special:
It's the End of the World As We Know It
And I Feel Flan

While the name was in poor taste, Zayne had to admit that the flan was pretty good.

Billy had only intended to go through a few sword katas when he came down earlier. But after seeing a large amount of driftwood, he instead spent much of the day setting up a bit of an obstacle course/training ground.

Now that it was done, he stripped to the wast, removed his shoes, and proceeded to treat the makeshift dummies as mortal enemies.

[Open for anyone who wishes to blow off a bit of steam.]

Hercules was going to have his cake and eat it too. Metaphorically, at least. No, he was out to share the cake he'd baked, and also keep a vigilant watch for the evil Redditors who were out to destroy reality.

He'd show them an upvote they'd never forget!

So as it stood, Hercules was in full heroing garb (the modern-looking outfit with pants and belt pouches), standing near a picnic table which had a slightly lopsided chocolate cake sitting on it, with a serving knife, some paper plates, and even some plastic forks nearby. There was even a sign he'd put up saying 'Free Cake!'.

He just hoped it didn't start to rain.

[ooc: Open post! I am possibly procrastinating on homework.]

There was a part of Susan that thought it might be silly to bother coming in to work today, but as it turned out, she was just that sort of person who would go in even when the Auditors seemed to be doing pretty well at wiping out all of existence. The way she figured, people might feel the need to come in and drown their sorrows somewhere, and- while it wasn't even close to true- she had just enough of a superiority complex to believe that she was necessary to mark the hands of the underage in order for them to do that.

Or that was what she was telling herself to justify coming in and taking her mind off things for a little while. Whatever.

It was unusual for Tara to be in the shop on a day when she didn't normally work, but she pretty much figured she could go back to a regular schedule when the crisis was over. Anyhow, the shop was functioning far more this week as Tara's personal magical research library and workspace than as a place where people actually bought things.

She'd brought Moxy to the shop with her. He lolled in front of a heating vent while Tara paged intently through a thick volume about gods of dreams. The 'auditor' concept was fascinating but hadn't really gotten her anywhere, so she was back to looking for dreamlords who might also have some interest in controlling reality.

It was slow going, but at least it was interesting.
