If anyone had happened to be wandering back in the preserve they might have seen an unusual sight. Way back in a clearing a coyote carefully dumped out a sack containing 4 bottles of rum and a screwdriver. The screwdriver was pushed to the side before she carefully nosed the bottles towards the ringleader of the group of squirrels watching her.

There was a brief burst of chattering among the squirrels and then the spokesperson made a gesture which clearly said, "And if we don't...?"

The coyote made a jaw-snapping lunge in their direction, then licked her chops before letting her tongue loll out in a smile.

The squirrels were convinced. No reporting and in return they got the rum and didn't have to worry about a hungry coyote hunting them down.

"Done," the ringleader signalled, then hesitated and nervously gestured toward the coyote and the screwdriver. The coyote considered, then nodded, giving the coyote equivalent of a shrug.

Sure. A coyote with a screwdriver was fine to report.

Then she picked up the screwdriver in her mouth and loped off.

After a great deal of stealthing around to make sure there was no one watching, a coyote wearing a pretty purple collar and with a screwdriver in her mouth quickly made her way to the back door of the apartment building and ducked behind a bush by the door. From there a hand snaked out to open the door and seconds later the coyote was loping up the stairs to the apartment of a certain Jamie Madrox.

At his door, after checking the scents to make sure she was still alone, the coyote shifted into a not-so-much clothed Mercy Thompson. She undid the pretty flowered purple collar from around her neck and took out the lock picks duct taped to it. After a few nervous moments (and two verses of 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall hummed under her breath) she was inside with her screwdriver.

It took a lot less time than one might think to remove the doorknobs from every door in the apartment and lay them out on the kitchen table. For good measure she took all the knobs and pulls off the kitchen cabinets and drawers and laid those out too.

The last knob was that to the front door and once that was off and placed on the table, a small and very happy coyote carrying a screwdriver pushed her way out the door, hurried down the steps and disappeared out the back door and into the woods.

Ah, revenge was sweet!

[Door knob removal done with permission of the occupant, squirrels have been bribed to not report who did this, but can report what happened and that a screwdriver carrying coyote was seen in the area.]

Kenzi was glad to be back here, and was even glad to see Tino. Though not so glad that she didn't throw napkins at him until he went to tape up the zombies.

"No holiday music yet!" she called. "I haven't done my shopping!"

The elves zombies responded with "Hippity Hoppity Easter's On Its Way."

"Why couldn't they be remembered back with more talent?" Kenzi wondered.

[no ocd, and apologies this is up a bit late.]
