The Gig, Sunday

Numbers- and by extension, calendars- held very little meaning for someone like Firekeeper, so she hadn't really participated in last night's festivities. What did hold meaning for her was that this was her and Blind Seer's final semester as students here. She found herself wondering what would become of them afterwards. Would the portal back to their world open again, as it infrequently had during their many seasons here? Or would it stay closed, requiring them to take refuge in someone else's world?

The horses, as it turned out, were of very little help in this discussion. But the Gig was open!

The good thing about having an open Saturday shift at Caritas was that you could do some events without having to bother anyone but Tino. So once she'd gotten some decent flyers made, Kitty went around town tacking them up.

It was Guy's first night behind the bar, so hopefully nothing would attack. He'd promised Kitty, after all. Couldn't break that.

So, after giving the zombies an unimpressed look at any attempts to con the newbie into doing anything more than duct tape, he was settled in. And maybe looking up drink specials for the day before settling on something that may or may not have just made him snicker.

It was the start of a whole new year and even though Butters didn't get the chance to kiss anyone last night, he was still pretty sure it was going to be an awesome one, so long as those Mayans didn't go and mess it all up like everyone said they were.

He didn't really believe it would be the End of Days this time, either (Butters had seen an awful lot of Ends of Days), but he decided he'd spend time at work today building himself a nice little Apocalypse fall-out shelter.

And singing as he did it, too.

The Causeway, Early Sunday Evening.

It had been a bit of a crazy idea, but Hayley had done it. Without so much as a word to Roy, Bruce, anyone at all in Gotham, she'd packed up a duffel bag of her most important possessions and she'd called for a portal back to Fandom. She hadn't told Elle, Karla, no one knew she was coming. She'd let that be a surprise for later.

Of course, as she arrived at the edge of the causeway and pulled her leather jacket closer to her, she realized there was one big flaw in this plan: she had nowhere to stay, no job, and not a whole lot of money.

She did have a red silk hood and a crowbar in her duffel bag, but those really didn't help with anything other than stopping crime. So with a deep breath, she was ready to set off to find a place to go...
