Caritas was open before sundown due to DST and it being light out forever anyway, but whatever, the place was ready to serve as Paintball Headquarters before sundown. Tino was behind the bar in case anyone wanted drinks, the lounge was set up for game night, and all that was needed were a few people to show up!

And turpentine. Lots and lots of turpentine.

[The bar is open till morning for your non-paintballing needs, though it's a mod Tino night. Feel free to cover the exterior of the place with paint in this post, too. In fact, I encourage it. A preserve post will be going up to start the game officially is here! PLAY BALL!!
And if you're paintballing, please refer to the rules/sign up so you know what's up for destruction and what's not! (You can totes still add your business or things to the list, too.)]

Thank goodness for Raven and voicemail, letting him know that the coast was finally clear. When Jono dragged himself back to the island, the first place he headed, of course, was to the Boards. Besides the fact that he lived there and all, it was Saturday, and he had a shift to work.

Never mind that he looked and felt something like he'd been run over by a steamroller. Friday had been spent being dragged around New Warriors HQ, choosing his equipment, getting to know people on the team, placing faces that had never in his memory looked that way (the Beak-to-Barry change had been especially jarring), and catching up with people he hadn't seen in years. Any reunions were bittersweet, though. Among the lot of them, there was that prevailing sense of loss. Miranda (nee Stacy X) and Jubilee, more former Xavier School students and Omega Gang kids than he could shake a stick at... Every last one of them had accepted Thrash's invitation because they had lost that same something, and this could be their one and only chance to get it back.

Jono frowned thoughtfully at his desk, and then shrugged and took a seat right where he was, in mid-air. Might as well get used to the new equipment for now, and worry about talking to old friends later. If they were going to be on the same team together, there was going to be plenty of opportunity for that. And for now, he was just going to try to draft up some sort of schedule for the summer activities at the Boards.

Saturday evening jam sessions? Friday night improv? Or the other way around? Ugh, options.

[Open for talking to Jono, or paintball chaos!]

The rules had been explained. The supplies had been distributed. The sun was down, the preserve was nice and secluded, the squirrels and other assorted wildlife were armed with tiny helmets and equipment that Topher certainly hadn't ordered, and there was no school board here to disapprove.

Welcome to Paintball 2012.

[[no OCD, but open for joining in/stumbling across the game! equipment and a list of the rules are stationed around, home base is back at Caritas, and that rule about sticking to the preserve is SO getting forgotten in all the chaos. HAVE FUN!]]

So paintball... paintball was kind of getting big. Like, bigger than Topher had expected, really.

Now, sure, he could stay outside and keep shooting at people and ducking to cover and hoping for the best. He could, sure. Or he could play to his strengths and flee to somewhere where he'd probably be safe and where he could do something he was good at.

So he made his way (very, very stealthily, mostly as a result of following Peter-the-fox's lead) to Stark Industries, stopping only once on the way to pick up a ton of paint, and then handwavily texted Billy with his idea. Only a few minutes later, he was standing on the front desk, peering at the sprinkler system overhead and trying to figure out how it could be manipulated the way he wanted it.

Yeah, this was going to be awesome.

[[tiny OCD for the purposes of thread organization/ROOFTOP SNIPERS, but YES OPEN OMG.]]

It wasn't that Jaye was working, really. Unless you considered swinging by to drop off a few bottles of rum as payment for the squirrels working. Which... she probably should. They hadn't been especially happy this week what with the having to hide and all, so they'd get an extra bottle to shut them up.

Not that most of the squirrels were here, of course. Except for the one who was stalking around with a tiny little gun of some kind and camouflage on its tiny squirrel face.

"I don't want to know," Jaye decided.

[PAINTBALL THE HELL OUT OF IT. Just not the equipment.]

Before this week, Zayne had only ever encountered gizka as lunch in diners. He should have known that ordering a bunch wouldn't have turned out well for him. Frankly, he used the Force too much in Fandom. The stakes here were relatively low most of the time, so he didn't really consider that the Force might need to balance itself out. The gizka were one thing. He had a bad feeling that something else like, say, a canon catchup might be around the corner.

He was probably safe today, though, unless people playing paintball ran through the lobby and splattered paint everywhere. But what were the odds of that?

[OOC: Open for paintballing! Or if you just want to talk to Zayne.

I'll be pretty slow after about 2:00 Central, completely AFK in the evening.]

It had been a very weird week, and Dani was glad that latest visitors to the island were gone. Dani had nothing to hide, but they reminded her too much of her dad's society friends who turned their backs when he went to jail.

But Dani was going to try and forget all about it, even if it meant doing physical work. She was starting with stacking hay bales. It was exhausting, but it would keep her from dwelling on the past.

[[Open, especially for paintballers! Just please don't paint the horses. They won't like it.]]

Zinzi and Sloth had done pretty well with hiding out for the duration of the school board visit -- Sloth was not what you would call a normal animal companion, after all, and while she'd certainly done it before, Zinzi felt bad about cramming him into a plastic carry-all for the better part of a week -- but the all clear had been sounded, and she was back at work.

She didn't know where the kitchen staff had gotten the godawful uniforms, or why they felt the need to wear them, but honestly, as long as they didn't melt polyester in to the food, she was down with it.

Today's specials
Breakfast all day!
Bacon, egg, and cheese burritos
Hashbrowns
Scrapple

Luke's was open, and Zinzi was pretty sure she didn't want to know what that last special was.

"Oh Hell no," said Bo when the first paint pellets started hitting the doors and she peeked outside only to narrowly miss getting a brand-new, Kenzi-inspired blue dye-job.

"I did not spend a week in polyester just to get my leathers ruined the very next day. You've got the bar 'til I get back, Tiny. I'm going home to find something I don't mind getting paint all over."

Why hadn't they waited to burn the uniforms? Why?

[OOC: I'll be afk for a lot of the evening, so you get a mod-Tiny thread for faster service, but Bo's up for SP when I get back!]

Sarah supposed paying for dinner was preferable to the yelling she'd expected to have to withstand. And since (she thought) she would be leaving next week, it seemed like a nice ending to her stint in Fandom to go out for one last time.

So, she was waiting for Guy outside Ching Tai. She hadn't dressed up particularly fancy for the occasion (which would turn out lucky later), so it was just normal attire in the usual hues of black and grey and the kind of green that made her mocking of Guy's uniform seem a little hypocritical. And, okay, there was probably a little more cleavage on show than when she was teaching.

Things seemed livelier than general this evening, but normal enough on this particular street. For now.

[ooc: For that dude, and PAINTBALL MADNESS MWAHAHA.]

It was Sunday now, and a new day dawned on a slee- well, probably not-so-sleepy town that was nicely coated in paint just days after it had been attacked by nymphomaniac critters.

Really, Fandom had seen better weeks.

But while the bar wasn't open for business, it was where the survivors, those who managed to get through the night unscathed, gathered to claim their prize. Or where anyone who'd been at the bar all night like a big lush got kicked out, Tino.

[If you played and didn't get paint on you, ping on in! A winner is you!]
