With all the extra people coming in for the graduation, Samus decided to agree to coming into the general store to help Apu a little, though she doubted he would need her assistance as much as he made it out to be. She was pretty sure he was just a little overexcited because the cheese panda had thought it a good idea to try to make a cheese Squishy that morning, and Apu didn't know how to fix the machine after that.

Samus got Bob back to running shape fairly quickly, though, and gave the bear a stern talking to that probably went in one ear and straight out the other.

Today's Squishy flavors: Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude, Maxima Cum Red

While Jono was absolutely planning to head to the graduation ceremony later that evening, both to cheer on old friends while they collected their diploma and out of sheer curiosity about how in the world the whole thing could possibly backfire this year, there was still plenty of work to be done around The Boards. With Troy away in New York, there wasn't much he could do when it came to plotting out the next theatre season, but there was one obvious task that he needed to take care of.

"I'm going to be scraping paint for the rest of my bloody life..."

"And that should just about cover it," Dean decided, putting one more signature on the paperwork while sitting in the office at the junk yard, and then standing to shake hands with the previous NPC owner. "Don't be a stranger, huh? I'll try to keep the place as neat and tidy as you left it. No tracking muddy boots through the junk or anything."

There were a bit more friendly conversation before Dean stepped out of the office to survey his new domain. Okay, so he was going to have to put in some serious hours just sorting this place out. There were heaps of scrap that he could put to use himself for his art projects, and there was a lot that the public might be interested in, for... whatever it was that non-artists tended to buy scrap metal for.

And then there was another part of the scrapyard entirely that had him sort of stopping and staring, perplexed, at what was sitting before him.

"Oh. Right... Spaceships."

Anybody who stopped by the junk yard today was going to find Dean trying to pull some of the junk away from the vehicles parked there by some of Fandom's more extraterrestrial residents and visitors. Parking lots were a general courtesy, though he wasn't exactly expecting anybody from space to want to make any purchases of the local trash or anything. They had been here first, the least he could do was leave a spot on the lot for them to park without scratching up their space-paint on some rusty piece of crap.

"Yeah."

[Yeah, Dean is moving to townie status, and taking over the junkyard. The mandatory name-change to McCoppin Scrap is forthcoming, and he'll be hiring in the future, but this post is mostly just establishy, unless anybody wants to stop by to... buy garbage or to check on their spacecraft, which he promises not to touch.]

Val's coming during Ender's first Parents' Weekend years ago had been an ambivalent affair, Ender not sure how far to trust her, Val not sure how far Ender would trust her.

Now, four years later, that seemed like a century away. Ender was terribly glad to see her as she'd arrived that morning. Not that he'd had much time to talk to her yet: check-in at the hotel and all of that stuff. So he'd promised her he'd meet her for breakfast at JGoB's and left her to settle in.

He was there now, having picked a nice table near the front of the shop. There was a plate of pastries sitting in front of him, though he hadn't ordered drinks yet: that could wait until she was there.

He waited.

[[ Ender is expecting one, but post is totally open both for interacting with him and for other use of JGoB's. ]]

Jaina was supposed to meet Ben tonight, so naturally that meant ice cream. Besides, was both good for celebration (yay graduation) and a good pick-me-up (any news that had to be told today). It worked.

So getting here early, she ordered something more or less at random and found a seat to wait for Ben. And try not to feel too old that the once-baby cousin she'd seen show up as a freshman had just graduated.

[Jaina's here for Ben, but can be open!]

So, this evening Warren had been expecting to grab Karla away for some sort of mutual birthday quality time, especially since his days on the island were numbered, and all.

And then his father had gone and shot those plans all to hell by... being a good father and showing up to see him graduate. So far as Warren saw it, his dad's timing for finally deciding to not suck at parenting could use some work.

And now... Now Warren wasn't completely certain how he had been talked into this, but he was spending the evening of his twentieth birthday sitting in silence, watching raw fish move by on a little conveyor belt, and trying to pay more attention to the humorous attempts of the boyos to figure out the chopsticks than to the very silent old man who was the reason for all of this.

"No, Khary. You probably don't want to just put the green paste in your mouth all in one go."

Awkward birthday dinner, and go.

[For those who know who they are, but the Sushi Station is still open if other people need to get their raw fish fix for the night!]
