It was only Valentine's second day running the shop, and already she could understand why Turtle had enjoyed it so much. It was sort of like being in control of some tiny little ecosystem, especially when you factored in the animals and the robots and Apu. Minute as the decisions may be, her choice to order more little animal soaps might have an effect on the sales, it might not, time would tell. Her decision to put up a display that morning featuring various school supplies might promote better sales than if she'd left most of them in their respective aisle. And, of course, she had to add a small display with a bucket full of umbrellas with a sign proclaiming them 15% off for anyone who was signed up for Ender Wiggin's class.

The most influential bit of work she did regarding the little store's ecosystem, however, was the very simple and professional signs stuck in the window of NOW HIRING.

Ender was very good at pretending to be in a good mood, in a good place. Actually being so - at least to a point - was different. While he was hardly going to work humming or anything silly like that, a little bit of the weight was off his shoulders today.

His sister was back. He could think of little that pleased him as much in the world.

And so it was that, upon coming into Stark Industries today, one might almost catch Ender working on some small gadget with a tiny smile on his face.

Surreal had seen other stores around town with signs, so she figured she'd do it too.

In the window by the front door was now a poster, in her neatest printing:

The Magic Box was open, and Surreal made sure to keep the deadlier stuff out of easy reach.

So Jake had deliberately stayed away from the picnic to give Tinny some time to acclimate on her own. He was, after all, vaguely aware of the fact that he might, sometimes, maybe possess the propensity to hover when it came to his niece.

All this meant that by the time Monday evening rolled around, he was seriously considering texting her or calling or something. Just to, you know. Make sure she wasn't too freaked out or anything.

Groovy Tunes - Monday after Diversity

George was gone, which meant that not only did Seifer have the room to himself for a while, but he also was short staff at the shop. So after his TA duties that morning, he headed to Groovy Tunes and propped open the doors. He had the Beastie Boys cranked up so loud the music could probably be heard on the next street over, and there was a sign outside.
