Atlas Gym, Thursday

Usually, when Clint needed to wind down, he spent some personal time with his bow, but he'd said he'd be at the gym today, so instead, the punching bag was getting the brunt of his frustrations. He should have been in a good mood after finding out that Coulson was alive, but he couldn't stop thinking about all the other people who'd died on the Helicarrier who weren't alive, and everyone had told him that what happened to Coulson wasn't his fault, even people who didn't understand what had happened and could never understand what had happened, but it was his fault there was an attack at all and it was his fault that Loki had been on board and now it turned out there was a Loki here but he was good and young and Clint couldn't just shoot him in the face, and really, this poor punching bag did not deserve what it was getting, but Clint was in a zone now and probably wouldn't be stopping without some other distraction.

As William opened the door to the shop, he was greeted rather unexpectedly...

In the form of a pancake landing on his head. Well, his hat, to be more precise. He peeled it off and spent a moment just staring at it before tossing it in the trash, only to have another pancake fall and land, yes, on his hat.

Apparently today was going to be a wearing-the-hat-indoors sort of day.

Sigh.

Magic Box, Thursday, 6/21

Oblivious to certain events elsewhere, Tara passed a quiet but productive day at the shop. The stereo was playing an old Carole King album, Moxy napped on a pile of altar cloths, and the crystals were being polished until they shone.

She was quite content.

The Beach [mid-afternoon]

After a very frustrating class in childcare (honestly, those children had been monsters, and grocery shopping should not be that difficult), Rilla picked up Jims from daycare and went down to the beach.

It was ridiculously hot outside, and while she was careful to put Jims on a blanket in a shady area, she needed to be drenched head to toe in a vain attempt to cool down a bit (in a swimsuit from 1915, so it wasn't like she had much skin showing...).

She was trying to stop Jims from eating a handful of sand when the raven arrived. She let out a shriek of surprise to see it (and another one when it took a nip from her finger), but then realized he was carrying a message for her.

She smiled with relief to hear from Dany after all the time and rummaged around looking for paper to write a very long letter back in reply.

Yeah, Kenzi had no idea if it was really La Shoshain, Solstice might've been yesterday (or was that equinox)? Either way, party time in the bar tonight!

The zombies were playing that on repeat.

The Perk, Thursday Evening

Summer's evening just wouldn't be complete without coffee, and lots of it. She was planning on a late night, studying some marine readings her brother had sent her and the pile was stacked fairly high. It was going to take some time, sorting through everything and the constant e-mails from Dirk were not helping.

She ordered herself a large cup of coffee and settled in to get some work done.
