Jessica figured she could participate in seasonal festivities today at work, so she took a few pumpkins, carved them, and inserted lamps she put together with motion sensors and speakers that would play spooky ghost sounds and shine lights when people approached. She put them right outside the door because, you know, she didn't want to have to put up with the flashing lights and noises in her face all day.

It was only a few minutes before the motion sensor jack o'lanterns started going off. And then they didn't stop. At first, Jessica figured it was just someone loitering, but then she noticed that the lights were a tiny bit brighter and sounds were a tiny bit louder, so she went outside.

There she found some bunnies shambling away from her destroyed jack o'lanterns. The lamps had some bite marks, but were in fine shape otherwise. Jessica wasn't an expert on zombie rodent body laguage, but the bunnies seemed somewhat disappointed that they didn't find anything tasty, like brains, at the center of the decorations.

As Jessica started to clean the mess up, she decided that maybe she could try it again with chrome-plated pumpkin substitutes. You know. Just in case.

[OOC: I am not around today at all! Bulls home opener tonight! Huzzah! So let's say that Jess is available for extremely slow play.]

There was a door halfway off its hinges down at the Boards, a fluourescent light behind the marquis flickering off and on intermittently, with the rest of the lights strung with cobwebs and just flat-out not working. From behind that loose, swinging, banging front door, a mist swirled out, just daring anybody who passed by to step inside, where a host of eerie creaking sounds and shadows that moved from just beyond one's peripheral vision threatened to make it a walk to remember.

A perfectly harmless one, of course, but this was the theatre. If they couldn't do 'haunted house' right, who could?

When the marquis was lit, the sign read;

Haunted Theatre!
Come In, Look Around...
If You Dare!

Jono had far too much fun with this holiday. He really, really did.

[Open! There's a thread for people to post any exhibits inside the haunted house that they worked on or are participating in right then. If you didn't actually tag in before, feel free to mod that at some point you stopped by anyhow. Jono would have had the place open on Monday and pretty much all last night, getting this stuff ready for the actual event. Have fun! Run rampant! Happy Halloween!]
