Tomorrow was Halloween, and while Jono had never really done much for Halloween in his pre-America days, it was one of those holidays that had managed to quickly grow on him. Something about being a night for monsters, coupled with being a teenaged monster himself, had appealed, and he'd made an attempt to enjoy it as much as his circumstances would allow, since.

That was why the doors to the theatre were open today to anyone who wanted to pitch in and assist with decorating the place for tomorrow's Haunted Theatre. He'd gotten as far as setting up a few assorted displays, and there were extra canvas corridors set up in the already dark backstage, leading into costume racks and props storage and dressing rooms that were practically crying to be booby-trapped. He was fairly certain that his collar had enough power in it to maintain a hard-light audience of the undead up in the seating, just so long as he only projected it while people were wandering through, and he'd stocked up on refreshments for people who'd like to help out today. The more spooky fare was being saved for the actual event.

Unless he started nibbling, which was always a possibility.

[Open for anyone who wants to drop in to visit Jono or help set up spoooooky things in the theatre! OCD-free because I'm a lazy, lazy thing.]

With things for the party tomorrow as set as they could be tonight, Kitty was making sure Caritas was nice and decorated. Mostly it was lining fake Halloween-themed candles along the bar and her standing on ladders to put fake spiderwebs everywhere accessible.

She almost decorated the stage area too, but... the zombies were really already enough there, weren't they?

[It's 10:30 am and I'm done with my work. You better believe I'm posting early.]

You're wet, the shop AI informed Victor as he came in from the rain this morning. Paper towels are in the third cabinet to the left. Do not touch the electrical gear with wet hands. You could create a supercircuit and destroy several thousand dollars worth of equipment.

"I know that," Victor said in response, making a beeline for the towels.

Given you're apparently unable to use an umbrella, I wasn't sure.

Victor sighed and, once he was thoroughly dry, went back to work on his homebrew game console. Without electrocuting anything, thanks.

[OOC: Open shop, no OCD.]

Hanna was so glad to get to do something normal after everything that happened on the 'A' train Saturday. So what if that normal thing was retail...in a store owned by a demon. At least it wasn't Rosewood.

The store was open.

Max was on time and behind the bar like usual, but today his focus was on flipping through a magazine the club apparently subscribed to in the hopes of finding a decent Halloween costume.

"What do you think, too many feathers?" he asked, holding a page up so Tiny could see.

The face Tiny made in response said it all. Okay, back to the drawing board.

Penny's texted suggestion, a reprise of his Mandonna outfit from college, was not appreciated.

Cafe Luke's was in full-on holiday mode by the time Karla came in on Tuesday. There were displays of gourds, seasonal stenciled designs on the windows, and, of course, the full complement of rubber bats, rubber spiders, and cotton batting. After the weekend Karla had, she felt fully justified in demanding they remove those items and put up other decorations instead. The busboys got tasked with pulling the offending rubber monstrosities down and the waiters got tasked with finding new, non-Karla-offensive decorations up.

For her own part, Karla was going to escape into her blissfully undecorated office and work on the books.

Spooooky Specials!
Yummy Pork Mummy
Scary Monster Sammich
Ghosts Dippers with Pumpkin Sauce

Of course, with helpful parting instructions like, "I don't know, scarecrows or something, just no bats or spiders!" she wouldn't be able to complain about the new focus on ugly, evil witches she was going to find when she left.
