Jessica wasn't paying much attention when she got back to the island early Sunday and reported directly to work. She barely even noticed that she was wearing mittens when she stepped inside.

That changed when she took the mittens off and her hands were suddenly remittened. A couple more tries and it was clear that any fine work at the shop was out of the question today. Oh well.

Of course today was the day that Demon Marcus got in a huge shipment of winter gear. Of course it was. And Sparkle, in his bright yellow woolen mittens, was left wondering just how in the world he was supposed to get this stock moving. The toques and scarves and boots and coats were easy enough, sure.

But how the hell was he supposed to sell all of these gloves? The temptation was there to just shove all of the the boxes of them outside with a sign saying 'just take them, please,' but there was no way of telling if the mittens he'd woken up wearing were going to be sticking around after today or not.

... Maybe just one box.

If You Sing a Holiday Song

There. That way, Sparkle figured, at least he'd get some free entertainment while getting rid of some of this wholly unnecessary stock. And if that wasn't how businesses were meant to be run... Well... Did he look like he cared?

Jonothon... was not actually holding his breath for a huge turnout at the rehearsal today. He understood that the holiday season had set in and a chunk of his cast and crew were probably off spending time with family, or something like that. That didn't mean that he wasn't going to hold out hope, here.

"If the island isn't messing with only me today," he said, sitting on the edge of the stage and holding up his hands, clad in a pair of mittens that he'd been grumpily tolerating since realizing this morning that they were stuck there, "then you're going to definitely want to be off-script today. I should be able to prompt you if you've forgotten any of your lines, but I would really rather not have to. This evening we'll be doing the blocking for act two, and next weekend is the closest thing to a dress rehearsal we're going to get, so we're cutting it ridiculously close as it is."

Seriously, he was kind of starting to sweat bullets, here.

"So, people. Places for act two. Murder, Murder."

Dani had spontaneously decided to take one of the horses for a ride along the beach. However, it turned out to be impossible to saddle a horse while wearing mittens, and every time she pulled off a mitten, she found another one underneath it. So instead of taking a horse for a gallop, Dani had to settle for hanging out around the barn with the horses.
