Éponine had not, to her knowledge, acquired any holiday-themed sweaters, but in her half-asleep daze this morning the one she'd pulled out of her closet happened to have a very brightly colored tree on it. Personally, she thought she looked fairly silly in the thing, and she honestly had no idea where it had come from, but she hadn't even noticed until she got to work and wasn't about to go all the way back home just to change, and anyhow, since when was she about to complain about being warm in winter?

The bemused expression on her face, however, had nothing to do with the sweater's mysterious advent and everything to do with the fake snow she had to keep sweeping up from the lobby floor, because one of the Christmas-themed advertising posters was a little too realistic today. At least it wasn't real snow. She'd rather not have to deal with it melting everywhere.

Kitty had been really glad to get to work today, because there had been tiny horses clomping around on her roof and then there had been tiny horses in her apartment and they were really cute till they didn't leave.

And now there were horses in the back room, too. You know what, she was just going to let Tino deal with that later and get on with her work now.

The diner had been invaded by a herd of teeny tiny white horses. Bay spent a few hours trying to get rid of them -- or at least chase them into the kitchen -- but they were persistent in clip-clopping across the counter and up and down the tables.

Eventually, she gave in and had the kitchen make something special for them.

Okay, so the little horses that had been galloping along the roof this morning were a mild problem, but once Clint was sure that Lucky wasn't going to go up and attack them, and they weren't going to come in and attack Lucky, he had sort of stopped caring about them. He had a much bigger annoyance to deal with today, in the form of an empty closet. Well, it wasn't entirely empty--his pants were fine, along with the one coat he owned, but when Clint had gone to get dressed this morning, the only shirt he'd been able to find was a sweater. He'd debated just staying shirtless indoors all day - hey, if there was any way to convince Kitty to come over, that was it - but in the end he'd decided to throw good sense to the wind, and dug his Santa hat out of a drawer to complete the whole thing.

The barista might have snickered at him when he was ordering his coffee, but Clint was choosing to believe she was laughing with him. He settled down at one of the tables with the newspaper and hey, if nothing else, the lights on the sweater were making the articles easier to read.
