Jono was perhaps a little grumpy as he opened the Groovy Tunes today. He hadn't for the life of him been able to find his bandages. Anywhere. He'd looked in all of the usual places - coat pockets, dresser drawers, boxes he hadn't unpacked yet - but no matter how hard he looked, nothing.

So, when he made his way down to open shop today, he was letting that freak flag fly, flames billowing up and tousling his hair around as though he hadn't spent all morning trying to get it to behave.

Which wouldn't be quite so terrifying, except apparently all of the light fixtures were missing today, too. Except for a few lava lamps he hadn't even been aware existed, which...

Well, they'd do. They were better than nothing, anyway.

There was a NOW HIRING sign in the window, and Jono was doing his damnedest to not look like some kind of funhouse horror gimmick at the counter.

It was a perfectly regular day at the Perk. Mike had been on a job on the mainland, and had swung by to grab a refreshing coffee on his way back home. He ordered, he paid for his order, and he was waiting for said order when he heard the voice. A woman.

"I just can't be around your lifestyle."

Wait, was that...?

"You can't be around my –– I'm not my lifestyle." Yeah, that had definitely been Brooke, because this incredulous male voice? Was his. From 2012. There was a long pause, then many false starts, then: "Am I Magic Mike right now, talking to you? I'm not my goddamn job! That's not what I do – I mean, it is what I do, but it's not who I am."

And then silence. Mike, who'd just kind of stood frozen listening to that, rubbed a hand over his eyes.

"... Well that's just fucking great."

Yep. Just a regular day at the Perk.

[ooc: Open place in town is open! If you want to have overheard a bit of that, go ahead.]

Buffy didn't really have any plans for Valentine's Day so she would be marathoning every romantic comedy known to mankind tomorrow night. So that meant tonight she was browsing through the wine choices the bar had and figuring out what would go best with The Wedding Planner.
