Nikolai was totally paying attention to his job at the hotel today. Honest. Except for that half-hour phone call that happened just after his lunch break from one of his clients, who was having a bit of a personal crisis.

"Well, yeah, of course people latched on to it. You were at the rehearsals. She's an award-winning Broadway actress and damn near a household name these days. But people have a short memory for shit like that. So long as you're not jumping on Oprah's couch, you should be fine."

"Well, you did apologize, didn't you? Yeah? Yeah... What do you mean, you were mocked by The Muppets?" A silence while Nick listened, and then he let loose a sigh. "Okay, fine. Beat yourself up over this if you want to- it was a stupid mistake and you're right, you shouldn't have made it. But if you want my professional opinion, John, you really need to just let it go."

Cecil was humming a bit as he opened the store today. His sacrifice requesting arbitration with the librarians had finally been accepted, so at least the ball was rolling. It was actually a bit warmer today. And he'd had some really great phone sex with ♥Carlos♥ last night.

So, all in all, not too bad a day! Foucault was a pink feathery ball in the corner, the latest mail was waiting for Sheila, and Cecil was unpacking the latest oddities, which happened to be a very strange assortment of kewpie dolls.
