Liara did not listen to the radio often. However, she was still trying not to let her attention dwell overmuch on the books while she was here, and so she had resorted to making a... playlist... of old radio broadcasts simply to keep her focused.

There was something about the tone of recent broadcasts that left her concerned. She wasn't sure what it was entirely, though, and after wrestling with the idea for an hour or so in the morning she let it go. Perhaps this was why she didn't listen to the radio: it had a grand way of unsettling as well as gossiping.

By the afternoon, she had gotten engrossed in another book, and thought little more of it.

Allie hadn't planned on being late to work, but on the walk from her apartment to the bar she swore she heard the guttural groans and shuffling steps of rabids in the shadows. It was only after she'd walked the entire town and found nothing that she finally headed to the bar. She'd make another through patrol after the bar closed.

For now she was just going to sit and keep her eye focused on the door.

Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary at Caritas tonight.

But after some of Mike's recent shifts, that itself felt like it was out of the ordinary. So, he was maybe feeling a little paranoid. In a pretty vague way that he was trying to repress, but still. But regardless of his paranoia, the most exciting thing that had happened so far had been Mike dropping a glass when Tino emerged from the back room. Look, Mike hadn't known he'd been at work tonight!

But at least cleaning up the shards gave Mike something to do for a moment.

"Now it's linens?! How can we be out of linens, Frank. I don't... I don't understand that." Drac rubbed his forehead as he paced the office floor and spoke into the phone. "It's a hotel. We have extra extra spare linens."

Well, that was actually because Drac was OCD, but he believed it was Status: Hotel, Normal.

He listened a moment, nodding. "Yes. Yes, I see. The Bog monster family reunion does usually run us out of clean..."

...

"Oh." More nodding. "...Wait, what? Why would a poltergeist convention ruin the rest of the... A costume ball?!" Drac's face went slack and he facepalmed. "Of course. No, you couldn't have known they would all dress up as ghosts. No, we can't very well use them! They have holes in them! No. I'll call and order more linens. No, you're not fired. I'm just..."

FREAKING OUT!!! WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO HIS HOTEL?!?

"concerned about things. No, Frank; other things. Right. I will call you later with more information."

And so, there was an emotionally distraught vampire in the theatre hiding his twitchyness about the mess his poor poor hotel was becoming in his absence by checking inventory and OCD-ing puttering about.

Oh, and despite all the troubles his mun he was having, he finally had signs up that auditions were open:

Casting Call for Sour Grapes Of Death

One year ago, Robert Killingsworth bought the farm. Six months later, he was dead, leaving his widow Elizabeth to tend to their fledgling vineyard and winery on the outskirts of California’s wine country.

With mounting debts and no idea how to run a business, Elizabeth is desperate to sell the farm and recoup her losses. The fierce drought and shaky economy, however, have left Killingsworth Farm on the market for far too long.

One autumn day, seven people passed through the gates of Killingsworth Farm to see Elizabeth. One of them, Detective Yu discovers, is the last person Elizabeth ever sees.

AUDITIONS OPEN
